It's more of a superstition these days than anything else because of that, but it's still a really bad idea to sit at the last spot if you're unsure of what you're doing, otherwise you could end up with other people at the table pretty angry with you.
Yeah I'm not saying it's bad advice. I'm glad it hasn't happened to me because I would get really pissed if some jackass blamed me for taking a card that would have busted the dealer.

Oh, a couple other things about black jack. Don't verbally say HIT ME or PASS. You'll look like a total noob. Tap the table if you want another card, wave your hand making a "no" gesture if you want to stand. And remember to tip your dealer, especially if they help you out and/or you get on a lucky streak with them. If another dealer comes up relieve them, they will tell you if they will be back in X amount of time or if their shift is over. If they are leaving, now is the time to tip (some places will only let you tip with chips instead of cash). If they are coming back soon, but you don't think you'll stay in until they get back, now is the time to tip. Some people like to excuse themselves from the table if the dealer is changing out of superstition.

All my gambling experience is in Biloxi, MS. Treasure Bay was an ok place during the day (it was destroyed by Hurricane Katrina in 2005 and completely rebuilt), but at night the Hard Rock was the place to be.

I have no clue what Big Six or Bonus Six are but I will never even make eye contact with them ever again.

    What about splitting and doubling?

Out of curiosity, what is the standard tip etiquette for a dealer? Like how much do people usually tip?

Revel is the nicest looking casino, but it's design is worse than imagineable. The bathrooms are extremely far from everything, especially the poker room, and that itself is upstairs in the worst location possible.

I used to do Harrahs and later borg on my long grinds.

It varies. Even if the dealer is shit-tier, I still tip at least table minimum if I've been there for a while.

Craps is fun and can be easily learned. You'll go to the table and see all this shit going on and think it's hard but it's super easy.

Hell, the table pretty much explains itself, too.

Set aside a set amount of money you want to blow on gambling. Assume that it will all be USED for entertainment purposes and not won back.

If you do win some back, set that aside and keep going with your original amount of money.

Try all the things in moderation if you can. I don't care for blackjack much but there are also different forms of the game that I did enjoy.

Roulette is fun, but watch yourself. It can go very quick!

As many have said: Stay away from slots, really no point to them. If you know hold em there are places to play that, too.

Also, if you don't already know: Drinks are free if you're playing game. Tip a dollar or so per drink and they'll keep coming relatively quick.

Edits: Someone mentioned don't say hit me or pass -- True, you'll kinda look like a tard. It's done with hard motions. Watch for 5 minutes, you'll figure out which means which.

As for craps: Never say seven. Seriously, just don't. If you're explaining it to someone, just whisper it to them. If you're turn to throw the dice, keep your hand above/inside the table - Don't bring the dice out. If they fly off the table, don't worry it happens, but try not to make it repetitive.

Oh oh! If you're going to vegas, play Collect All The Hooker Cards!

It's the best. They hand them out on the street, try to get one of each.

You can verbally say split or double without getting weird looks. Some people indicate it by placing more chips on top of the cards.

As for tipping, it depends on a few factors like how much you won, how much time did you spend there, how helpful was the dealer, etc. For example, let's say you spent an hour at the table and won $100 with a shitty dealer. I'd tip $10. If you did the same amount of time and won the same amount of money but had a very helpful dealer, I'd leave at least $20. If you only stay for a couple of hands at the table and the dealer leaves or you leave, you don't need to tip anything. If you end up winning anything north of $1000, you better be leaving at minimum $100 tip or you will look like an asshole. My brother used to be a dealer in a low-stakes card room (I'm talking $2 per hand max bet) so he never got amazing tips, but he did deal in a tournament once where a dude won $10,000 and he left him an $800 tip.

The problem with penny slots is that you can still play $1.00 per pull. I'd say stick to nickel slots because they aren't as jerky with the pull options...

Bregor got a pretty good chart. Find a Black Jack table that has multiple decks rather than single deck. This increases your chance in winning. I also never went past 17. The dealer has to keep hitting themselves with more cards until they hit 17 or above. I did this an won a little bit of pocket change when I went. (Started with $5 and left with $150) The key is not to go overboard. Just because you won, does not mean you should stay at that table. Gauge you win/lose. Walk away for a while and come back later.

Tyven and Airenn (wtf) are correct, craps is the best.

Especially if you're a chick, dudes will place bets for you if you're remotely attractive - honestly it's enough to push the odds in your favor if you're hot and play strict pass line (or if you want to push it to the limit, don't pass bar - which is what i always play)

I've left with a gambling profit the last 4 times I went to Vegas, including doubling my $500 at my bachelor party last year.

I plan on playing the slots for a bit... I realize odds are heavily against me but I just like the thrill of pulling the lever and seeing if I win anything (even if its 5 cents) that being said im putting 20 bucks max on slots if that. Whats best thing to do when playing them to stretch the money? The only gambling outside of lottery and scratch cards is playing the minimum on a penny machine. First trip left up 12 bucks second trip left down about 20 but got about 3 hours of play each time

Went to a casino in oklahoma. Walked in with 20 bucks. Played nickel slots, won 120 bucks. Went to 10 dollar Blackjack. Left that night with $310, all in about an hour. Helps if you have somewhere to be that day/night.
