Its been stated in this thread 1000x to write off all the money we plan to gamble with as as a lost and the cost of entertainment. We both know that theres a 99% chance we come home with losing all the money we set asside. We are going for the entertainment and experience, not to make money. If we come home with more than we went with, fuck yea. If not im sure we couldent have gotten 2-3 days of entertainment/food/drinks for 100 bucks anywhere else.
You can't get that gambling either. $100 is maybe an hour tops depending on how you run.
Just on something that wasn't mentioned if you do decide you wanna try some slots (and honestly you shouldn't, you can lose money so quickly on such a shitty activity), try to find video poker ones. I rarely gamble 'cause I have no luck (which I am thankful for since it means I don't get addicted hahaha), but if we are at a casino and decide to give it a shot, my money always lasts wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy longer than my parents doing regular slots.
been playing an online video blackjack for about an hour out of boredom betting 5 a hand and using basic strategy. Going threw hands as fast as possible and in a real setting I think it would have been easily 2 hours worth of play and im hit up to +100 at one point and -50 at another but after a hour im at +33. I know this is a poor judge but bettting like this it feels like it should last the majority of the day if I play slow and take regular breaks to eat and wander around. As well as watching my gf play. We are both taking $100 so I figure we can just watch each other and make it stretch that much more.
This is a fairly small cadino in the middle of Mississippi
In order to stretch your money the longest with slots I would recommend finding a 1 cent/line machine and just cover all lines.
Some of the newer games require max betting to get certain progressives, jackpots, or bonuses. It's up to you. Sometimes they also increase the volatility of the game in order to make if feel like you're winning more, but you're not.
One thing I was told. Whenever you get up from a table always change the chips back into cash before sitting down at another table if you have a players club card. When they change your cash into chips they calculate the points you get for your card at a higher level than if you just sat down with chips (you may be using fresh money from the atm). You'll hear them call out "Changing 100" for $100 cash or "Check change 100" or "check change 1 black(color may change depending on casino)" for changing out $100 in chips to a lower denomination. The pit boss then plugs this into a computer.
Also if you are a players club member, give them your card with the cash you set on the table to be changed. The dealer will give this to the pit boss and "check you in" to the table.
Like the others have mentioned. $100-$150 at $5 per hand will last anywhere from 30min to 3+ hrs. I wouldn't plan on it lasting more than an hour or two.
Don't waste your money on the side bets on the blackjack tables (Lucky Ladies, 3-card, +3). They are just there to give the casino more money. Although if you play 3-card poker with the pair plus bet anyway, the 3-card side bet is basically the same thing minus the ante and play.
And Tunica or Biloxi/Gulfport have much nicer casino's.
Awesome thanks so with a rewards card give them the cash at the table and when I leave a table cash or there or go to the desk and cash out? We are going to Peral river resort. It was between that and tunica but we live on the east side of alabama and didnt wanna drive all the way across Mississippi
This happened to me once, I was new to the game and took a card that would have busted the dealer but busted me instead. I don't remember what happened to the dealer's hand, but some lady yelled at me. I was confused at what I had done wrong, but statistically speaking, there's just as many ways I could help the table as hurt it. I understand it's "etiquette," but if you understand the odds, it doesn't matter in the least.
I've only been to a casino a few times, but i'd recommend just making sure you go with a specific budget and expect to lose it all, and just try to have fun doing it, and be happy if you win
Just stopping in to say this is one of the dumber things you've ever said liroy, lol.
I'm an applied math + astrophysics major and my roommate is an applied math major. If there are two people who could count the fuck out of 6+ decks it's us (you're right, it's easy) but the thing is casinos hire people far better at math than me and my roommate put together to write software and develop algorithms to spot card counting.
Don't know about you, but I wouldn't bet on my ability to outsmart someone who graduate top of his class with a PhD in applied math from MIT or CalTech.
Still you can do it until they catch you and throw you out. It's not illegal.
With a 5+ deck shoe, even counting cards perfectly barely tips the scales in your favor, and most people aren't Rain Man, they use shorthand.
