They removed the AH because as I said, people are stupid and don't know how to have fun unless they're literally dragged kicking and screaming to that point.

Same reason they nerfed the fuck out of CotA, chest runs, etc etc etc. Because if there is a slightly more efficient way to get loot that is boring as all hell, people will run it to death rather than do things that are actually fun in the name of efficiency.

When it says, "After the season ends, all of your progress — your experience, your items, your gold, etc. — will be rolled into the main roster." does that mean that everything you earned will be applied to your main account?

I would assume so. Though if you're like P250 now and P100 there, I doubt you'll be P350. Instead, you'd be whatever P250+Exp-to-P100 would be. Though, my concern would be the stash, as if you have 4 full tabs on open, then 4 on ladder, you'd suddenly have no room. I can only assume that could be fixed by their 'mail' system they used to deliver wings.

The left over AH system could work, too. Dump the items into that list and you have so many days to take them.

Different people take different levels of enjoyment from different aspects of the game. You can't be wrong about what you like. It's the same argument as Competitive vs Casual, or RPGer vs Theorycrafter/Hardcore Raider, or a hundred other reasons that people that have for playing various types of games.
