I did because it ruined my idiot market. I was slowly selling my old 1.0 Grade 5s for 6.5k each before the patch hit. I still had exactly 99 to sell (probably sold a total of 2 stacks during 2.0)

Anyone know at what level gear can start converting into T2 / T3? Or rather, some level like how i55 green stuff can turn into T3 or T4, but for T2+3.

Supposed to be 45+ for T3. I think it's 21+ for T2.

It can't be 21. I convert silver choker, which is ilvl 29 and it always converts to t1/t2. My wolf earrings, mythril wristlets of crafting, and mythril rings of crafting always convert to t2/t3, they are ilvl 35-37. I suspect ilvl 30 for t2.

I saw some Saurian Gloves converted as I was walking through Limsa once. T4 Savage something, like you would expect.

Probably 25 or 26.

Maybe as low as 20-21 but it would seem odd for gear to give materia that you couldn't meld for another 10 levels, then again the materia system wasn't exactly well thought out considering you can get TIII from gear 10 levels below the necessary level to meld.

The question was what level you can *start* converting to T2, not what level it *stops* converting to T1. Both are important.

I thought this was already known? Any t1 has a chance of being t2, right? Just low rng chance?

For anyone interested, the T3 Sahagin daily "Sea Scraps" has a boat with like 15 guys lv48 (5 on the back of the boat, 10 on the front) that's pretty good for spiritbinding. Would be ideal to have at least 2 people + chocobos if you're SBing a full set of non-combat gear.

Ct has proven the best for sb'ing in my exp. With some sb+ stuff i70 sb's at 10-13% per run. Anything lower will sb extremely fast.

Solo option though. I can SB 2 full sets of mid 30s gear or 1 set of mid 40s within the 30 minute chocobo timer. Which probably isn't stellar.

What is the purpose of sub III-IV materia?

Crafting/gathering materia. (Multiple) IVs and IIIs aren't totally necessary.

Edit: I've had a couple pieces in this Linen/Mythril set turn into T3 materia too so there is that.

the spot at urth's gift(sp?) i went to yesterday with a couple friends we did 4 full sets in like less than 2hours. Used a spiritbond potion though, not sure exactly how much it boosted it. I made a good mil+ or so, had some luck with T4 ones

Spiritbond potions are explicitly stated in the help text as +3 Spiritbond, so it's equivalent to wearing a Meteor Survivor Ring without actually wearing one. Anecdotal evidence leads me to believe that +X spiritbond appears to simply function as +X% (so +3 would be +3%) so it's not huge, but every bit helps.
