    You can only carry 2000 stones at one time, but you can spend them and then turn in more gear for points. No idea what the cap is per piece. I got 600 for a few triple melds I have. I imagine you could get 700-1000 for something with like 5 Tier IVs on it. That is, if you were lucky enough to make something like that and I doubt anyone was.

    Yea I was just kind of confused why there was a cap on the currency to begin with, and what the "weekly: 0/300" thing was in the currency tab or whatever it said was (I really only spent like 2 mins checking it out before moving on).

    Weekly 300 is for tier 2 tomestones, which will be for things like AF+1. You're getting tier 1 tomestones for your cracked gear.

    We crafted a shitload of NQ/HQ ilvl 70 stuff last night, and some people managed to quintuple-meld. Still not enough of a sample size to really draw any concrete conclusions or make broader assumptions, but some general notes for DoW/DoM gear:

    - The +base stat (STR, DEX, INT, MND) that already exists on the HQ version of an item is a good neighborhood indication of what all base stats on that item are going to cap at.
    - The above also seems to apply to the highest secondary stat on the HQ version of an item (speed, crit, accuracy, etc.). For example, if an HQ item has +46 crit and +33 skill speed, it seems likely that the skill speed and crit will both cap at 46.
    - Determination seems to always cap at a different (lower?) number than both base stats and the other secondary stats (speed, crit, accuracy, etc.). Parry might also fall into this category.

    Did anyone mess with crafting stats on jewelry? Curious about how high Control/Craftsmanship melds can go on those slots.

    The Control cap for the ilevel55 crafting hats seems to be 36.

    When the game goes back online, I plan to test out the materia on the jewelry. All the best crafting items for waist, neck, ear, and rings only have one materia slot; so I want to speculate that their cap is probably low.

    ok, I havent touch crafting at all at beta
    so, what I need to do at early access are
    0. (re)Learn how to craft (anyone have link for a refresher?)
    1. craft a new HQ crafting set, using my old HQ crafting set
    2. either exchange my old HQ crafting set with token or assimilate it into materia. which one more plausible?
    3. getting some tier IV crafting related materia to meld into a new HQ crafting set (or non crafting materia, depent on the capped stat from the HQ gear)
    4. optimized my new HQ crafting set
    5. then from there, crafting new HQ battle set and/or HQ gatherer set

    are those plausible? and for point 5, could I rely on the new darklight set for dungeons?
    there seems to be a lot of thing that need a priority, but this game content still a battle related so I might need some decent battle set

    You can only exchange cracked materia for new materia of the same grade, there was no tier 5 materia in 1.0.

    I vaguely remember something about being able to buy new materia with points (so I guess that would have been from Rowena, not the Salvager)... was that not accurate?

    Which has already been established officially as "the same as release, except with all content beyond lv20 blocked out", so don't suddenly expect something come EA/Release.

    Edit: I don't see TierV materia in the xivdb stuff, so maybe there is some minor hope.

    Let's suppose I have a hat with two slots, both filled with Craftsmanship materia. Let's also say that I decide I want to go with CP materia instead.

    As I understand it, I could either go to the moblin and have him remove the craftsmanship materia in the hat, or I could just try to multimeld CP materia on it and if it fails, I've removed the craftsmanship materia anyway?
