are supposed to be referencing the "Attack on Titan" anime. Might be a stretch, it's hard to say.

The Corpse Bribe and Adventures in Throat Slitting (the FATEs themselves, not the names) are also Final Fantasy Tactics references. The FATEs have you fighting the Corpse Brigade and their leader, Miluda. Compare with Chapter One from Tactics, which had you killing Miluda, a soldier in the Death Corps.
