They said there would be a new crafting beast tribe, so I expect it will be to do with that.

Craftmanship required for 3 stars isnt very hard to reach, and for control, well, there is the godly seafood stew. Once you've penta'd your accesories the left side is shit easy to meld to reach minimum stats for 3 stars, doesnt even need a lot of overmelds.
Just glanced over at my BSM, has shit melds and only Main, offhand and chestpiece, sittin at 862/750 w/o a soul stone, Lol. I melded shit load of craft and hardly any control on his shit, but that was way before we even knew what 3.2 was.
Welcome to my issue. I didn't know where stats were going, and though my shit amount of CP was enough. I just melded Control/Craftsmanship and prayed. Was good enough to get me through pretty much any synth I wanted, soulstone or not. Though apparently it's biting me in the ass now, if I wanna progress further. :/
cp>control>craftsmanship is the priority I go for. CP is that make or break it of having a for sure basic/precision touch vs hasty.
Has to be max CP in every meldable slot. I refuse to consider any other solution.
After that, I also generally prioritize CTL. Once you hit the minimums, CRF may or may not make a difference (especially with Maker's Mark and Flawless spam), but CTL makes a difference on any synth you don't hit 100% HQ on, and those are the moments I need help the most.
is the 220 gear or mats locked behind specialists? haven't been on in a while, so my combat classes are behind and was thinking of crafting them gear to catch up.
figures. thanks for the fast reply.
Has there been any word recently that the next crafting set is going to be one set for all classes or a new one for each?
Well time to sb the gear I don't use often and blow it all up come 3.3 for easy T5 materia.
As the next beastmen quests are going to be like the Ixali, I'm wondering if you'll need to obtain items like the sealant again (to craft with like for Artisans gear).
Have a handful of alts ready for that. With the flying mote mount I imagine it'll be moogles rebuilding zenith or along those lines.
Moogles story always funny-ish, it might just some silly nonsense story line

Few things for those wanting to prep for 3.3 one set in all crafts.
We know now it's going to mean we can convert all our old pieces of gear and like me we have all sets hq even outside of specalist. Not many options for quick/speedy spiritbonding but there are the new "2* synths worth shit" (for now) Sewing thread, High Mythrite Nugget, Camphor lumber etc. They require 850 craftsmanship to quick synth.
Well where to get that craftsmanship outside of some melds, Emerald soup. Gives a chunk of 60 craftsmanship.
WVR Pieces there being completed and with out food I don't come close to the 850. I could do them one by one and hq, but doing 80% worth of SB? nah.
I never tried to rely on food much in the past for crafting unless it makes control+ or cp+, but if you have one minute left on food, start a quick synth for 99, it'll continue your quick synths when the food wears off. Just a little fun fact.
For now all these items are cheap as fuck on the market so clean it up before people hop on the sb train.
No problem for me! My 3* set now is penta-meld omnicraft i160 (except hat, which is crafted i170).
I do need specialist to hit 850/820, though.
From reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/ffxiv/comme...ussion/d3y18ij
so we need to do enough moogle quests for 48 glass fibers for 16 luminous fiber for all right and left side crafted gear (without tools)... well that's an obective for the next months... how much moogle currency does one item cost? how much was it for the ixal one?
edit: 8 oaknots for one sealant.... so if we get the same rate with the moogles look forward to 384 moogle quests
How do you know 3 glass = 1 luminous?
https://www.reddit.com/r/ffxiv/comme..._notes/d3y3yf1 is a useful summary
Here's the breakdown for crafting:
- Everything that was red scrip token is now blue.
- Your old stockpile of red tokens can be downgraded to blue, or exchanged for IV crafting/gathering materia.
- The new RCS token is called Goblin Cup. It acts the same as an RCS token used to.
- The new RGS token is called Goblin Dice. It acts the same as an RGS token used to.
- Non-crafted gear is class-locked i200, traded for these new goblin tokens and old i180 gear. It's an augmented set so expect it to look the same as i180.
- The Ironworks-looking set we got to see literally IS Ironworks gear. It's made with 3* mats, FC3/MC demi, and luminous fiber. 1 for accessories and belt, 2 for most gear, 3 for tools and chest.
- Yes I said accessories. They said somewhere those would be delayed for 3.4, but they're in the patch notes now.
- non-accessory gear seems to be i170 with an augmented i190 version also available? Recipes for i190 not in notes yet. Accessories and belt are i190 off the bat. Tools are i195.
- EDIT: Ironworks is i190 immediately. Patch notes mistakenly listed carbonweave as ironworks and ironworks as augmented ironworks.
- Luminous fiber is ALC-crafted using 4 new materials. Source of these materials is unknown.
- Carbonweave crafting and gathering shared sets added using a BCS material and Diadem mats. Edit: This is i170 omni to quickly catch up your non-specialists to 3\*
- Celestine is also commonly needed which I believe is still only from airships? Market for that is going to be hot.
- 30 new orchestrion rolls including Moggle Mog XII!
- Ink for aetherial wheels increased yield to 3 per craft. That means only 3 deep crystals/clusters per wheel now instead of 9.
- Drac potions, Max potions (stat), Seafood Stew, etc. All also increased to 3 per craft. Recipes appear unchanged. Leves and GC required turn-ins increased to compensate.
- Specialist lifted on last patch's items
- That bizarre patch note about GP bonuses and removal was clarified. Folklore nodes can now have different types of bonus, not just the GP one. Ideally red scrip nodes will all keep the GP bonus, but we don't know.
