Just an update, Ingenuity II *does* in fact increase the progress of recipes below you level. Did a test on some Undyed Felt and it increased my CS2 from 134 to 153, which is in line with the expected 15% increase of a 3 level "advantage". Generally not going to be particularly useful, but good to know.

Probably good if you were leveling alt crafts, or if SE ever adds new crafts.

If it reduces the required synthesis steps, yeah possibly. It'll still have no effect on quality though, so the effectiveness is reduced compared to when it is used for higher level synths.

Yeah, I also confirmed the Ingenuity change and edited the OP accordingly.

Calling Rapid Synthesis worthless also needs a big fuckin correction.

Out of curiosity, what do you use it for? Because I still never use it.

Can easily halve the durability you need for progress if you're willing to take a little risk.

Once you start getting into mastercraft stuff and beyond and progress becomes a much more significant hurdle it's quite useful.

I've used rapid synth 0 times outside of leveling. I haven't even considered using it on 3star since it's meaningless and introduces another layer of rng that isn't needed.

    I stick by my assessment.

Ingenuity I/II + CS2 > Steady Hand II + Rapid Synthesis in any scenario where progress is a concern. And Rapid Synthesis without SH2 is like throwing durability in the trash.

Piece x2, IG2 Careful 2 x3 = done. Why would you use rapid synth? ._.

If you're talking about 3-star stuff (including augmented items), I'm still not seeing the advantage. I've done hundreds of 3-star synths using 2x (3x for augmented) PbP, 3x Ing2 + CS2 and don't see how adding another layer of RNG is an improvement. Hence why I asked where you'd use it.

This, I have no idea why you would use RS.

I like knowing exactly how many steps I will need to finish a craft. Considering you can only get it to like 80% success rate (and we all know how anything not 100% is according to SE's math, yes I'm talking to you 98% quality NQ. Also fuck you 95% chance gathering and miss 3 swings in a row) I wouldn't want to waste any steps.

also, macro crafting 3star fun (which has a very high, if not usually 100% quality with all HQ items) crafting >.>

  14. #1214

I rediscovered it when first making the artisan material items and just found it to be pretty nifty since progress actually started to make up a significant portion of the process.

Much like Hasty, 80% odds and no CP cost gave it a decent amount of appeal. I can get why people don't like the RNG factor tho.

So with your above rotation u skip Steady Hand (step 9) unless you proc a Tricks in the first 2 steps? Meaning hastys/Basic Touch after the 9th step will be 50% chance?

Question: do Judgerays desynth into anything? I'm wondering why someone spent so much money buying my Thousand-cast pops.

  17. #1217

Given their ilvl (80) they should have the possibility of desynthing into Fieldcraft III, no?

I've only seen Mastercrafts from fish so far.

But given that, I don't doubt it's possible to get Fieldcraft 3s.
