Isn't that how it's always been? The cap on gathering % is purely level based (your level vs the item's level), and you can't breach it until the next expansion raises our levels yet higher. Pretty sure the Lv66 stuff caps at 99%, Lv67 at 98%, etc. up to Lv70 items at 95%. Pretty sure even back at lv50 the Lv50 items were capped at 95%.

so currently tandem leveling MIN and BTN (56ish), and yesterday they were both starred for GC turn-ins. I felt like Quina: "I... so happy..."

Finally making some progress on my weapons, I've made BSM, ARM, ALC, CUL, CRP, and FSH so far. Only 5 more left to go. Rotation I've been using is:

NOTE: The 6 Prudent Touches I mentioned in the rotation, watch for Good/Excellent and turn one into a Precise Touch, for 11 IQ.

It's worked out well for me so far, my last synth was the fishing rod, even with 2 NQ Snailfish Oils, and no proc for only 10 IQ I still ended up with 80% quality.

Stats before food on specialist are: Craftsmanship: 1513, Control: 1448, CP: 471. I use HQ Tempura Platter and HQ control pots.

You can make like 500k/30 minutes by doing collectibles > desynth > lightning crystals. Can easily gather over 1,000 every 30 min that way and there is a node rotation that lets you do lightning from noon to midnight every day.

Wind good too but don't have as wide a gather window. You're gonna wanna netflix at same time.

To clarify, Buffy means Aetherial Reduction, not desynth. Desynth actually has a level. Everybody can do Aetherial Reduction. You gather up collectables of stuff that says it can be reduced, then you blow it up and can get a shitton of crystals, depending on its collectability.

thanks for the tips. I've done reduction on collectible fishes so I've got an idea. just wasn't sure if there was any better route than crystals (sands are in the toilet across the board, boo) :/ crystals it is, I guess. unless I can find a better niche but ugh that requires work and research and effort

I was messing around with my fishing log and found and interesting fish. Typhoon Shrimp that are spearfished in The Lochs desynth into Wind Crystals. They actually aren't hard to get either.

I guess, if you REALLY want wind via fishing... but you are talking literal desynth, rather than reducing, which probably means you're getting... 1 or 2 crystals per shrimp? Let me know if that's wrong, I'm guessing. Also, you'd need to actually have cul desynth leveled, so I doubt many people can do it.

24/7, Loch Seld Northwestern Lakebed. Normal Gig can spear Moondisc, Typhoon Shrimp, or Abalathian Pipira. If you Veteren Trade the Moondiscs though, Typhoon Shrimp are way more common than Abalathian Pipira.

Yeah, that's the only downside you get 1-2 Wind Crystals, and 1-2 Water Clusters, always at least one of each though. Would Bountiful Yield II help a little though? So you can spear more Shrimp at a time?

I actually find CUL desynth the most useful for me at the moment, I'm still indecisive as to which ones I want to level for my other 2. I use CUL/ALC more than any of my other DoH's right now, and I farm all my own materials. I have 3 main fishing spots I visit on a weekly basis, and I get so many crap fish going for the fish I actually want. I get more use out of them desynthing them, than I did NPC'ing them. As it stands now, I pretty much have an unlimited supply of Ice/Water Crystals/Clusters, which I actually use more than any of the others.

One thing I will say though, I wish we had a system for mass desynthesis like we do for quick synth. It would make desynthing them all SO much easier, lol.

mass desynthesis needs to be a thing. I could have made so much money while leveling FSH but I was too lay to click-click-click one by one on massive stacks of fish that don't sell well but could be converted into crystals. mostly I just vendor'd them tho; too annoying.
