I am probably two years late noticing this but I just saw a shooting star go out over the evening sky in Azim Steppe and it was beautiful.

didn't know shooting stars were a thing. happen to catch the time?
just came back and decided to get the car. never done GATEs before. I did Air Force One and was like "holy crap are they all this good?"
answer was, no. no they are not. but that one is awesome, kudos to the dev team.
Praise to my retainer who randomly brought me back a Nidhogg scale that sells for 1.8mil on Faerie. This only a couple days after bringing me back 2 pots of Jet Black dye that sold for 450k each. Makes my endeavour into crafting/gathering much much easier.
people who make apps like this for time/weather-based conditionals are just muah
There is a pretty great fishing one I've been using similar to that too: http://ff14fish.carbuncleplushy.com/
gods among men
yeah 9, 17, and 19 are bullshit
The new Feast seasonal armor has what appears to be an actual cape, plese lawd almighty let there be some gear in ShB with real capes too
Idk if this has been mentioned elsewhere but spotted today on an alt that those irregular moogle tomes also come from eligible dungeons done with Squadron.
Spoiler: show
If you guys haven't had a chance yet, check out the Journeys album, some of the arrangements are really nice
when we first found out that job quests were being abandoned in lieu of role quests, while I completely understood the reasoning, I was nevertheless a little disappointed
man was that off base. They did such a great job with them. Aside from standouts like DRK, and maybe whatever job lore in particular may have been your fancy(I really wish we'd get greater insight into Phoenix on SMN), the storytelling of the four questlines was infinitely better than the 50+ we've done individually in the past
That's good to hear. I hope the physical DPS one was the worst, because good lord that was boring as shit (enjoyed the final fight, but that's about it).
The actual lv80 quests for each and every job were pretty throwaway trash though. I could've done without those completely and just had those dev resources spent elsewhere.
I mean don't expect SHB MSQ levels of entertainment. They give you the opportunity to connect with the WODs, and do a pretty good job of it compared to most job quests in the past
Yeah, I'm honestly glad they went this route with them. I really only ever watched the job quests for my main job and just ended up skipping most of the rest because they really didn't seem too interesting.
Having them provide more lore about characters involved in the main story was a really good idea for this expansion.
All it did say to me was they're probably dropping Job quests for good for all but the newcomers in the new expansions, since there's not much more needed to be told with the existing jobs (the lv80 job quests are pretty much just giving closure), and it's a lot of fucking work to have to write up new excuses for the existing 15 jobs when they can just continue with this role idea and budget them better. Same goes for Crafters. The Facets system was a nice way to get all the relevant NPCs into a common work space also so you're not hopping around the world just to talk to people.
Only thing I wish they handled better was their mandating role quest for MSQ. Each time they threw you to the Inn would have been a decent excuse to nudge you towards completing the next Role quest or something, instead of slapping you with a lvl80 quest completion on a lv79 msq.
