Finished all i90 on my DRG today. Got Garuda ring to fill up the T1 ring I was missing and got last myth piece. It's all BiS too besides the T5 drops so I'm pretty stoked. Time to work on summoner.
Watching my wife do High level roulette and getting Pharos Sirius and it being everyones first time. Was pretty epic watching them figure the fights out and clearing the dungeon with people actually communicating and listening and not being assholes.
Its not bad. Except for siren. Healers have a hard time with it.
Is there some reason for that? When I ran it (unsuccessfully -- eveyone was new and didn't know the mechanics), it just looked like it was everyone's responsibility to avoid the charm, but aside from that, wasn't any particular additional work for the healer to do over normal encounters. I only got it down to 50%ish, so maybe there's more to the encounter.
Finally we get healing body to drop after 14 (I think) runs. Caster body still MIA
There is one "jump" move she does where she flies back down in the center; if you're not in the center you get hit with AoE soon-to-be-charmed debuff, in some combinations (like, she does healpotency- buff right after and it doesn't get stunned/silenced) this is basically impossible to live through if everyone gets hit.
Everything else in that fight is just DPS killing the crawlers first, and healer being on-point. It's like the only boss in the game I can't go Cleric-DoTs on outside of the first and last stages.
That AoE charm only results in charm if not at full HP when the first debuff ends, healer can just top people off and avoid it. In the one run I actually bothered to do me (WAR) and the MNK just beat the shit out of eachother and we won anyway. Assuming decent gear you can pretty much just faceroll Siren, one or two (non healers) getting charmed isn't that big a deal.
Charm debuff is also a DoT, iirc.
As I recall, the debuff is "dealing damage over time and will charm if the target doesn't reach full HP before the timer expires." The debuff wears the instant your HP hits max tho
If you have everyone at max HP + Stoneskin/Adloq it'll tick for 0 and wear instantly
Edit: or the applying move does damage or something, either way keeping stoneskin up and/or adloq will pretty much make it a non issue not to mention the ability to avoid charm through positioning or silencing or some shit
(i actually dont know what the fuck can be silenced, i never bothered to care i only later heard some of her shit can be)
If she can be targeted, she can be stunned/silenced. I think the AoE charm she can't be targetted but the center of the room avoids that anyways.
Pharos Sirius doesn't seem any different than any other dungeon I've done with randoms (there are still people who can screw up easy dungeons). My first time in was on a 3/4 complete with 20 mins left on the clock a couple days ago. I got a "hello" followed by a "please tell me you speak English" (the healer who bailed on them only spoke French). They gave me a quick run down on how the zombie thing works and Siren went down no problem.
Got PS again on roulette today with 0/4 progress and I was half tempted to decline, but I joined anyway. It looked like both the healer and the tank bailed when they saw the dungeon they were dealt. Tank joins a couple minutes later and we get an easy 90 myth.
I do see why a lot of people think WHM is the better healer here.
A random roulette player that his name made my day.
Spoiler: show
lol there is someone on our server that cracks me up for personal reasons. It's something like "lililo lilo"
My daughter is obsessed with lilo and stitch and there is a scene where they are all shouting lilo's name. And so when she first started saying it she would say, "lililolilolilolilo!"
