Ha, the boxes for my statues were massive. I have them stored in my dad's loft otherwise I'd have no room in my flat for them.

And yeah, my mum was a bitch. The sad thing is is that she got more relaxed in the last 10 years and we watched the Harry Potter films together in the cinema. I tolerate it in as far as I'm protecting my inheritance in the future (there's other things she did in the past which I won't go into now).

I collect hand carved, wooden elephant figures. I've got over a hundred of them in storage, but I'll show my two favorite that I have with me currently. The first is a carving that was done for me by a mahoot in Thailand of his elephant. I was showing him how to do footwork properly and how to get the elephant to participate without having to hit them. He was very grateful and carved that in a few hours of downtime we had during a particularly fun monsoon day. It is simple, but it means the world to me and I think it's beautiful.

The next one is a carving of Ganesha, the hindu elephant god of arts/science/wisdom/intellect and the remover of obstacles. It is about three feet tall and all carved out of one block of wood...simply amazing. I LOVE this carving and it has a very prominent place in my room.

This one cost more than the other 100 or so that I have all together, but it was worth every penny and will always have a special place in my heart because of the story of how it came to my possession.

lol...out of context I guess I see your point. I recently left there though, so that's really not the excuse for keeping it. It is a nice reminder of a big part of my life though. I've worked with other animals before and will more after, but working with elephants was special and I'll never forget it.

Hess Trucks. I get one every year from my parents for Christmas. Got every one since 1984 in the box, only opened once to remove the batteries from the packaging.

oh hey, something i can actually contribute to instead of lurking. i collect reptiles, arthropods and wargaming miniatures. don't really have much in the way of arthropods since i've come back from afghanistan (aside from the occasional wind scorpion, the little critters are all over the place and i'll catch one and keep it for a little while every now and then) but i have a hybrid carpetXdiamond python, a honduran milksnake, and a pair of redfoot tortoises. please be forwarned, some of the pics are stupid huge.

python is just over two meters and pretty hefty.

my wargaming stuff is mostly 40k and i have so much of it it's not even funny. several thousand dollars worth, easy. i mostly play chaos, tyranids and blood angels. i do a lot of conversion/scratchbuild work, it's one of my favorite aspects of the hobby. here is just some of the pics i have of crap under construction.

I have them all vaccum packed and in rubbermaid bins in the attic until I build my garage. I'm going to do an enclosed glass shelf in the garage to display them all once it's all said and done.

lol snakes are pretty much ruled by their stomachs. a snake that's not eating regularly (unless fasting due to breeding or winter/dry season/cooling cycles or getting ready to shed) has an issue with health or husbandry that needs to be addressed.

Guy who used to work with me a few years back once dated a girl who used to collect the used condoms after she would have sex. Never told him she did this. Apparently she would offer to throw them away for him and after he'd leave or go to sleep, she would empty it and wash it out and attach them to pages in a 3 ring binder. He only found out because she left the binder out one day and he skimmed through it and she'd write the date and name of the guy next to each condom and rank the performance 1-5 stars. He said it went back to her high school days (at the time she was 23 and he was 25).

Needless to say he and she did not last much longer after that discovery.

He never told us how many stars he would average. We assumed it wasn't that high. Binder was what pretty much pushed him over the edge to break up with her. We had been telling him for months before that point that she was crazy but he didn't see it until he found it
