~10 DTR is probably not going to give you enough difference to tell.
WARs are healed for more because every Wrath stack gives them +3% to healing received (and most sit on the max of 5 stacks, giving them +15%).

Thanks again for the shoutout! Let me know if you need any more help.

wonder if whatever god you pick at the start increases or decreases enmity generation. would explain some of the disparity in threat generation
Having a bit of trouble with turn 2 of coil holding hate pulling snake. I think it's just our blm nuking as soon as I throw my shield but any help is appreciated. I usually pop rampart, go in and shield lob, run it into position and start my fast, savage, halorne. I was doing a spirits after lob while running into position but was advised against it by our FC leader who also plays PLD. (which it being off the gcd I still think it's a good idea to use to build hate)
My gear
Full 30 points in vit
DL body/head combo
hoplite belt
hoplite legs <---- This is my next upgrade when i get my myth up currently halfway to legs
AF2 feet
Relic weapon
Relic +1 shield - did this before I knew we'd be clearing coil for shield drop, wish I didn't now
DL neck
Imp Op wrists with vit +4 vit +3 and acc +6
DL fending
DL maiming
hoplite earrings
I know the weakness is the hoplite pants, and plan to upgrade asap, I will aslo upgrade the belt even though the difference seems to be marginal at best. I was using hq amber with double str melds before i was told I need more acc for coil, so i upgraded to DL accessories.
Any suggestions would be helpful, I'd like to hold threat a bit better, only have around 700k gil so I can't go out and buy HQ everything and meld it to death. I have a 50 GSM so I can craft accessories.
FoF -> lob as many times as needed while you position it -> position it -> sw + flash + cos -> start rotation.
If your blm is nuking before you position it that's not your problem.
Use SW for hate unless you know you are fighting something that needs to be silenced
Your gear is kinda poor so your damage is going to be poor. This can be fixed by thorough application of tomes and/or money. Your choice. No reason to not have DL belt when it's only 4 castrums worth of points.
Spend some of that 700k on good food.
I'm a 41 cul, what are the top three foods I should be looking for?
As for the gear I will get DL belt this evening, wait on af2 pants. I can substitute hoplite for something better if there is an alternative. I tried looking up your character to see what you had equipped but no luck. I'll follow that rotation though thanks.
This has been the most informative thread I've come across, thanks to everyone especially Sath for the information provided within. Everyone in my FC is concentrating on a second or third job/relic, I really just want to learn as much about PLD and be as good as can be. I didn't play it in 1.0 at all, and am really happy I started GLD in beta as I fell in love with tanking.
La Noscean Toast / Walnut Bread for trash. Apkallu omelettes / Black Truffle Risotto / Lava toad legs for real things.
I apparently gear 180 degrees differently from most of the PLD in the thread so take my gear suggestions at your own risk. I'll lodestone picture later when I'm not in class.
I was under the impression that the ilvl70 food isn't worth using as you struggle to hit the % caps. I mean like 15 VIT at 2% requires 750 VIT to cap (i.e. it isn't happening)
So like instead of Apkallu Omelettes / Lava Toad Legs /Black Truffle Risotto you'd probably be better using HQ Deviled Eggs if you were going for Crit + VIT as you'll get more stats out of it due to the %'s.
That's probably true, I haven't really given it much thought. I've honestly just been tossing back 2* food since the mats are easy to farm and I have cul50.
Spoiler: show
For people asking about gear / melds. All ilvl70 ACC have the same melds. The neck is VIT7 Parry 11 (replacing with gryphonskin this week I hope). Off ring is hero's. Belt is allagan. Everything else is what it looks like.
iLvl55 body +Crit cap is 23 (tested on a militia harness, but I believe all iLvl+slot have the same stat caps). I don't remember offhand how much HQ Militia Cuirass has on it naturally, so on it you can put 23 minus whatever that number is.
It has 16 naturally and yeah it goes to 23. I think most will just put it at 22 and call it a day though. To hit 25 you're either Quint melding it or using a T4 Materia.
I don't know what Sath did but I did 1 T3 Crit, 3 T3 Acc and said fuck it to the 5th slot (was trying Acc) because I blew up too many and was already over Acc cap anyway (was precautionary for when I change other gear)
That is a metric ton of crit. Very cool how melds allow you to customize your chara.
Think I need some gear help.
Spoiler: show
(Hoplite body/legs/feet, HQ Militia head/hands, Cobalt Plate Belt, DL Kite Shield, Hoplite neck, Amber accessories)
Nothing currently has melds (I'm sure this is a problem I need to / can fix quickly). I was using HQ Militia body but I had to switch back to Hoplite because I was actually missing stuff like trash mobs in AK.
It's really doubtful that I'm going to use my PLD in coil, get coil gear for it, or spend myth on it, so probably the hardest thing I'm going to tank on it for the foreseeable future is Titan (not right now of course holy shit I think I'd get rocked). So based on that and what I've glanced at through the thread it looks like I should do something like
-Get DL or HDS leg+feet piece, hands, and belt.
-Meld (crit and det?) onto Militia head/body?
-Imperial Operative Choker, meld VIT (and?)
-Other accessories I have no clue; I have a Hoplite ring as well that I'm not wearing there for some reason
Didn't go through the whole thread, but are there any tests/results of people finding out how useful the various slashing/blunt/piercing resistance are for mitigation?
Serav, if that's the case, I wouldn't bang my head so hard. Full Heavy Darklight and Darklight VIT Accessories should suffice for, hell, All of Coil, including Primals. If the time comes that you'll actually be gearing it. It's AF all the way (except hands, & head (turn5), which would make sense for you to purchase Valor Coronet in the mean time), and as for accessories, typical Allagan and hero's stuff.
There would be absolutely no point spending money on HQ Darksteel shit when you already have access to coil and eventual Heavy drops.
