I don't dispute that you have a much more polite way of suggesting they learn how to play. However, that isn't the point.

The point is that whether you say "low damage output" or "300 vs. 700 DPS," the outcome is the same. Whether you preface that with a polite suggestion on how to improve (up to/including direct instructions on how to fix the problem), or a simple statement that they suck, the presence or absence of concrete DPS numbers doesn't really change anything.

Someone ask me to do him an NQ platnimum circlet of casting with full mats. So i tell him to tip me what he wants, and he comes to me. Problem? Seems I forgot to get GSM book II, so I ask him to wait, get the mats for the rose gold clog, then see i need the calibrated one 3x.

Check mats and the Fieldcraft materia III costed me 300k for all 6.

Result? guy gave me 10k tip

The idea that dealing less DPS than your tank (or your healer!) would conclusively prove that you are playing the job wrong would be a more credible argument in a game where the playerbase didn't complain about tanks not tanking and healers not healing.

Your argument rests entirely upon people obstinately insisting that they are doing just fine in the face of being told what they are doing wrong. Adding DPS meters does not solve this problem.

Honestly, I'm trying to find thinly veiled legitimate excuses to get to 10 posts so I can link my fully named and appropriately laid out Heavensward OST in the appropriate thread for others to enjoy. You know, since no one seems to have made an mp3 version of that yet for some reason.
