Would it actually kill people to google strats of endgame fights? I'm sick and tired of doing like, Titan EX or Coils and seeing "First time here, how does this fight work" and 95% of the time we wipe.

Had an experience like previous poster with the bubble guildhest. It only adds to the fury that the NPC calls you a moron every time you fail a bubble.
My DRG somehow had truth of mountains active in a dungeon.
Moogle EX is incredibly forgiving, Titan EX is not.
Random fail, get T7 win on sunday for the first time and gives the tomestone to the MNK (cuz SMN was a pug and Glanz are awsome)
Fail part I should've ask the mnk how many soldies he had, cuz atm he's 0/2000 so no Glanz for 3 weeks :O
I find the mentality that people need to have the solds for the tokens already in order to lot the item stupid.
"hey I hung onto my solds instead of spending them on gear to improve my performance in the group, so I should get the special drop"
I get your logic behind it, but it does make sense to give it to someone who has the points already. That person can get their weapon asap and when you clear T7 again (do the unknown tomes drop from t8 and 9 also?) next week and the other guy still doesn't have the soldiery he can get it then
That basically encourages everyone to not spend their tomes so they can have the chance to lot the item, which would hold back your group way more than 1 person having an upgraded weapon would advance it.
T7 requires nothing more than like i85 and the ability to work as a group. Not spending soldiery won't hurt you in any way. T8 however, will greatly benefit from i100 weapons. Much more so than +3 STR / + crit here and there and especially much more so than a tomestone rotting in someone's inventory.
I guess it depends on your group. I've bought my evenstar body/ring/earring/belt already and I'll have the points once I cap this week to get the weapon if I get the tome. We haven't cleared t7 yet, but on the practice run I missed Saturday they said they were getting it to 35% with 2 pugs in there so I have hope we'll get it tonight/tomorrow. idk how much of a dps check t8 is so I can't really speak towards how everyone holding onto their soldiery for 3 weeks would affect your average 2nd turn group being able to down it
seems rough , or at least it will be for my group
I think our highest dps in t6 last week was our mnk pullin in like 240-270 in some runs. I know as BLM my shit was terrible, like 220-240, sometimes higher depending on vines and such. Parsing on solo targets in Whitebrim my friend says I pull in about 320 on ACT, depending on procs of course. idk if our group can pull off 1520 cumulative dps though. This is going to be fun.
Avatar is basically a high-tech dummy, your dps on it should be higher on it than anywhere else.
