Oh WOW
Oh WOW
did that hit all 3 pipes? lol
hmmm. I was really hoping for a Canadian loss in this game. Its not like it really matters, and if this keeps up, there won't be Women's hockey in the Olympics soon
EDIT: to show my point: Canadian womens record since the late 80's: 255-49-3. 46 of those loses are to the Americans.
They've lost 3 times to non-american teams in nearly 30 years.
That's my issue with Women's hockey as well. As much as I love the Canadians being dominant powerhouses, the parity amongst the women's teams is just non-existent. This year there will be a new silver medal winner that isn't Canada or the US purely because they changed the groups around and forced the two to be together and basically make it so that only one of them can make it into the finals.
Not to say I want Women's Olympic hockey out, that's not it at all. More then anything I'd rather hockey get promoted better on a global scale and the parity begin to match that of the men's side of the game (which, outside of a few countries like Japan and Belarus, is actually super competitive). It's just better for the game as a whole and would want to make me actually watch women's hockey instead on skipping out on lopsided boring games.
What? It was my understanding that the top 2 teams in Group A would get byes into the semis (and would be in separate brackets) and the bottom 2 teams from Group A would play the top 2 teams from Group B.
So, as long as Canada and USA are 1-2 in Group A, they couldn't possibly meet until the medal round.
LUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU starting against norway I hear

Y'all may hate Corey Perry, but that line is gonna do some work.
Jokinen totally reminds me of this guy in that picture.

Nightmare fuel
Spoiler: show
US up 6-0 now Jesus.
Spoilers, they win 9-0.
Yeah, it just ended a minute ago on NBCSN. That's just sad.
Jeff Carter being Kunitz/Sid's winger is the most irritating hockey decision I've seen in a long time, St Louis or Duchene would've been 100000x better
Tavares would've been insane too
Maxpac is apparently married to a Russian - former Sabre Maxim Afiniganov's sister LOL

I don't really think Duchene or MSL fit that spot on Sid's line (raw snipes, where Stamkos would have destroyed), but Tavares would probably end up working out well.
Not like Babcock will be sticking to his lines for longer than five minutes anyway. The lines in Vancouver ended up being little more than names pulled out of a hat for every shift.
I just re-read the article I found the information on, and you're right. I kind of skimmed through it on my first read and didn't see the part where all 4 teams from Group A were guaranteed into the elimination round.
The article in question.
I do stand by my statement though, woman's hockey is still a bit of a joke when it comes to parity. Shit needs to change there pretty fast for it to remain a viable competitive competition.
