Updated OP with macros in the new style with inline <wait.#>'s. Reposting some here for feedback. For reference, I don't use a Physick+Embrace macro. Just Virus+Eye on 1 button, and the various pet stuff to either save buttons (Selene+Eos stuff on one button) or save spamming (embrace automation).

The <wait.1> spam for the latter 2 is for consistency, as I've had issues with the abilities not coming out. The <wait.2> spam for Embrace is much the same; you'll usually get about 7 of those 13 to go off before needing to reapply. Waiting less just makes you need to reapply it sooner (3-4 will go off), waiting longer can lead to increased imprecision. Can also just spam the button to reset the timing.

Fair enough. I could have probably specified but yes we're talking about the level 50 dungeons.

Embrace has a recast of 3s even though the cast is 2s so, since SS does not affect pet anymore, you'll require <wait.4> to get every line to go off. With <wait.4>, you have about 1s delay between embraces, but you should cast every one of them. This should also relieve petaction delay (I say "should" since this is theoretical based on increased delay). The reason <wait.2> works so well is because you'll occasionally get them to match up with <wait.4> delays.

As for generic macros, I made a list here:

You should be able to pair any "Enemy" and "PT" action without consequence. The most stable commands are ones without a default target (EFE/Res). Just make sure the "Enemy" action precedes the "PT" action in case a default exists. You can also add "Obey" before pet actions to avoid a single "Obey" macro/icon.

Edit: Had an idea for instant casting pet actions by ordering a stance before the action, but that cancels spells (WD) and sometimes requires more than one click. There may be a working command combo I haven't checked though.

Right, but the issue I had with doing <wait.4> instead is that if she is delayed for any reason (Place mid-macro [I do this a lot in Ifrit and Titan], moving to follow [lazymode low dungeons], knocked back) it creates a longer wait period occasionally. Twice as many <wait.2>s is fundamentally the same as half as many <wait.4>s once you have it going, but getting ~7 automated Embraces off before needing to reapply is "good enough" for me. It's just all about consistency: if fairy gets delayed, the "dead" half of the macro becomes live and nothing is really lost.

Finally got Praetorium duo down. Nero was SUCH a bitch. Hardest part of the dungeon, easily.

Forgot to properly chronicle it, these are all I remembered to do. Onto Castrum!

    And 1/1 Castrum duo.

Nero was probably the most difficult challenge in all four dungeon duos we've done so far (Livia and the second boss of Castrum come very close.) You essentially have little room for error during the final 35% as the hands start appearing at an accelerated rate. Both of us needed to Ruin II the adds down quickly (with an Energy Drain for burst on closer targets) before they hit us or it's essentially an automatic game over.

I don't see any DoTs from the SCH (except Aero) on any of the bosses except The Black Eft. Are you forced to do this so you don't pull hate off of Titan-Egi? Or perhaps these pictures were simply taken at very inopportune times for representing that. It seems very odd to be throwing Aero instead of Bio, at the very least.

Also, I'm curious how the cannon portions of CM went, when you're basically forced to pull a good 6-or-so monsters at a time. Was miasma I/II enough to slow them down to be kited while someone shot them up, or did you find some other clever way to do it? I just know that in shitty CM groups, the cannons get very damaged/destroyed, so I can only imagine how well only having two people would go.

The first set of cannons ate so much shit so fast since the enemies are like 5 feet in front of them. The other cannons are set with a long run-up so I could kite / let titan get hate very far out.

Most fights SCH had full dots up, not even me going balls out on festers could pull hate off titan. He tanks remarkably well lol.

Edit: We also learned something very interesting / amusing. As with every other boss in the game with defense up buff, you can bypass livia's magitek super defense with bane. So we got livia down to 1% after only 2 cannon shots thanks to double bane, funny enough, she WOULD NOT DIE. She ran around at 1% until we hit her with the cannon 4-5 more times. Was pretty damn funny.

I'm interested in how you killed Ultima Weapon before the Ultima timer. It's been a while since I did this and granted it was in DL-ish gear, but we used to beat it with like 5-10seconds before that nuke went off with 5 DPS. Did overgearing it that much really allow you to burn it that fast or am I not remembering the fight right?

That actually wasn't too bad, as I had planned it out ahead of time.

Placed shadow flare right before he disappeared and the swiftcast summoned ifrit as he popped away. Rouse/spur enkindle right as he popped back and started cast followed by RS + hq mega pot of int dots -> fester > energy drain > fester.

All this with sch dots and EDs + ruin IIs as well was enough. Killed it at like 70% charge.

This can also be done with Qarn 2nd boss (golem) to speed up a fight. Not that I can ever get pickup SMN/SCH to listen.

Don't tell me how to do my job Seravi. I bet you didn't even know Titan could out DPS Garuda.

  14. #694

Also what is this about Ifrit's damage being better than Garuda's now?

I ran dummy parses using both of them on Obey and they were within 1 DPS of eachother.

I don't think ifrit is really any better dps than garuda, I still use garuda 99.9% of the time, but for sole use in a 20s or so zerg I opt for ifrit since his enkindle is slightly higher damage and his base attacks are higher potency.

Main point is that before this would not have been the case at all. He would have been way lower. All because they tweaked his 3s recast to actually be a 3s recast instead of the awkward-wait 4s.

I really don't remember the countdown hitting that low even when it was DL or worse in the standard pt set up tbh

Continuing to dick around. After an hour or so of attempting to duo Ifrit HM it looks like it might not be possible (still some small hope), so we did this.

    Spoiler: show

The other SMN is a BLM main and has very little experience ever actually playing SMN, which highlights that the roadblock to duo is purely the DPS during the nails phase. (I died to Hellfire and ended up double weak, so that's why I'm in 3rd )

Edit: We finally hit the wall. I dare say that at i90 cap it is 100% impossible to titan-egi tank garuda + both sisters at once (in a duo or trio setup), lol. Got through past Aerial Blast as SMN x2 + SCH, but couldn't do the sisters

Titan takes SO much damage from Garuda, lol.

Ran 3 five minute dummy parses just now (used both ACT and XIV-APP) and Ifrit was consistently higher than Garuda. Ifrit on Sic did 82~ DPS while on Obey he did 80~. Garuda on the other hand did 72~ DPS. He honestly needs a bit more damage to be viable as a full-time pet but as it is right now, he does have some uses when you want some short burst damage but those situations are very few.
