-Free to Play
-Much more focus on team play instead of individuals due to how the game is built (no "carries" it seems, & no gold, items, etc).
-Shared experience (if someone somewhere is getting XP, everyone is). Not immediate vicinity.
-No "last hitting" lets people start engaging heroes almost immediately.
-Goal is ~20 minute games
Objective-based maps (You will likely lose if you only focus on hero kills without doing objectives)
collecting coins, giving them to an NPC, and he allows you to use his ghost ship to attack the enemy.
Reaching a dragon shrine turns you into a Dragon thing that buffs you like crazy
-Class types: Assassin/Slayer, Support, Healer, Siege (can out-range towers), Specialist, Warrior
-Towers can run out of ammunition
-Gate connects 2 towers, so you can choose to kill both towers, or destroy the gate and bypass them.
-Small towns will be present, in addition to towers.
-3 skills + 1 passive at the start of the game
-Talents (active & passive) that unlock at certain in-game levels
-Talents can increase move speed, attack damage, increase skill range, or even grant a new active skill.
-Unlock "ultimate" skill through talents (level 6?)
-No items, shop, gold
-Mount system for heroes
-Heroes spawn on the mount, dismounted when hit by any damage.
-You can cast while mounted.
-3-second cast to re-mount
-Maps seem to be left-to-right at the moment, but others may be top-bottom and diagonal
I'm holding judgement but... looks like LoL-Lite or DOTA-lite. Doesn't look very competitive. You can't overcome having shitty teammates by carrying. Meh. We'll see.
At the same time, even great carrys can be taken down by shitty teammates.
I think the games having ~20 minute target is huge, it makes mid-late game get there quicker. Not having gold or items, but map events is a really interesting spin on things as well. While it might not hit the competitive levels of those other games, if its done right, it could be a really great change of pace and a lot of fun.
One of the worst things to me about playing other games, especially without at least 1 friend with me, is the sheer amount of time and dependency on others keeping their wits for the duration. One shitty play 15+ min in and people start attacking each other and throwing games. This not being reliant on items, carrys, and with less time involved, could really mix it up.
B. Blizzard heroes
People will at least give this a chance. Diablo and Starcraft, as well as warcraft obviously, have insanely huge fanbases. I don't expect this game to roll over the other existing ones, but I imagine it will at least hold its own for what it is. Its watered down and simplified to an extent, along with some map strategy involved. It could be a lot of fun.
It'll have its own niche, so here's hoping its out and actually worth playing before 2020.
