Probably referring to the elemental resistance reduction effect of ancient magic (works like ninjutsu nukes and threnody)

It must be ancient magic, because the dots are enfeebling right? The line does say elemental magic not just ancient magic. Do any other elemental magic spells lower stats?

Now Macc+36 surely is something I wouldn't have expected on MNK feet... Base stats have increased by +10 each btw.
I guess good piece if you wanna use Counterstance?

Counter rate caps at 80% even with Counterstance up. Gifts put MNK at a 22% counter rate base and 119 Relic already put us at 82%. These feet are kind of a meaningless upgrade for a macro piece, but that's fine.

The stats show that they're trying to make them useful/unique and aren't afraid to add new stats, which means there will be some winners in the 110 pieces they release.

Its entirely possible that it permits it to bypass the cap. However, this is SE, and they have created redundant gear before.
