They also added a different tail, removed the spines from its back, changed its paws to have four toes instead of three, added ears, and it looks like they altered the body proportions as well to make it look more compact and muscular instead of the leaner looking khimaira. What the hell are you expecting? it's a motherfucking lion, a khimaira is a composite of animals, its got a lions head, why do you insist on the lion being different face wise from khimaira when that would create inconsistencies in the game? If the lion looked too much different, people would be wondering why the lion part of khimaira looks so different from an actual lion, when its supposed to be part lion.

Kumhau's face is structured a bit differently and his mane is a lot different. While admittedly none of the pictures present a particularly good profile view, it would also appear that his body is more naturally proportioned, as compared to Khimara's freakish back bulge.

To play nynjas advocate, would you make the same argument if the other naakuls were just reskinned bee/pugil/treant/vulture/etc?

They made a giant lion. There was already a mob in the game that happened to have the face of a giant lion. It otherwise looks different. Notice how they both resemble - I bet you can't guess this one - an actual lion. I don't see how this could be any more straightforward.

Yeah that "it would create conflicts in the game" doesn't make a whole lot of sense when it's not like species of animals can't look different, and we already have similar monsters that look totally different like Yumcax VS Treants etc. But I think even if the face or maybe even the whole model is a repurposing of the Khim model/skeleton it looks great. It's not a freaking reskin though, a reskin is something like that lava golem in Meebles where they don't touch the model at all and just change the color scheme.

Also I'm glad the screenshot has it as the proper WKR size this time instead of bamboozling us with those "holyshithueg" screenshots they had for Achuka and Tchakka.

It's not a reskin so I don't see how this is even comparable.

Different stance, different proportions, lower profile. It's about as similar as the UFOs are to the tree Naakual, but no one is popping veins over that one. It's like no one bothered to even look at a picture of Khim.

honestly, instead of arguing that kumhau isnt a reskin, should have just said from the get go "yes, its a reskin, and khim is already a badass looking lion, they took out the dragon/snake features out and thats whats left" instead of "you're an idiot, this is completely different from khim".

So you're saying everyone should just agree with you that it's a reskin, when it's clearly more than just a reskin, even by your own admission in the quoted post? Yeah, they used Khim's head (the lion aspect of Khim..) for use in the lion Naakual. They took out the dragon and snake features, and replaced them with....lion features. That's totally a reskin, right?

the lion naakual is not a khim reskin... like totally not, you can say that sky gods are reskins of tiger manticor wyvern, but this is definitly NOT a reskin.
