If you thought that Lionsgate was done with the Saw franchise, you were wrong. According to Bloody-Disgusting, the studio is "incredibly active in developing an eighth Saw." The franchise was created by James Wan and Leigh Whannell.

The last Saw film was Saw VII 3D, which was released back in 2010. Three years later, I guess the studio has decided that they want to keep soaking the franchise for every penny that it's worth.

According to the report, Lionsgate isn't rushing it. They’re trying to find the perfect take to move forward.

Wonder if it will move to a whole new cast, or continue on with the same story. I think I remember listening to the commentary where they had an arc planned out for 7-9, but had to try and compress them into a single movie after being told 7 was the last.
