not to defend the fucker but why shouldn't Selig be forced to testify? It was his call that he was damaging hte game or whatever, and he was the one who determined suspension length which seems arbitrary and not in line with the agreement... so why not? seems unfair

Link for those who want to verify. Just saw this myself. Trade makes sense for the Tigers in they get to unload a contract they only took on due to Martinez tearing his knee.

I figured we'd be seeing some trades this offseason with the lackluster FA pool and so many QO's rejected, but I didn't expect a trade like this.
Now if my GM could only somehow get rid of Ryan Howard's contract and stop signing mid-30's players to multi-year deals........

I mean Prince is 2 years younger and they're both about equally productive this year and last year, but the contract difference is pretty stark, and given the positional issues with Cabrera and V Mart it's a no-brainer for the Tigers.
I guess this frees up a cluttered middle infield for the Rangers prospects, but...that contract, fuck.

According to BR, Tigers are sending the Rangers $30M as part of the trade. Still terrible for the Rangers.
