I've only watched the first 35 minutes of the first episode, but I can already tell it's going to be good. Netflix really pushes it's new series on the viewer when they log in. The people that watched Daredevul will probably know. I know a bunch of people that will be binge watching this weekend, myself included. Probably my mom at some point as well.
What's our spoiler rule for this show? Won't be watching until tonight with the girlfriend
Prob should spoiler stuff for at least a week? Not like it is hard to do.
Halfway through ep 6, and I feel a bit less excited than for DD...maybe because I don't know much about Jessica Jones. So far the show is really good though.
Edit: one question, however: does anyone else have the lighting randomly changing during scenes?
So good but not better than daredevil? Did they give her powers? What are they, this chick is new for me.
Assuming nothing has changed from the comic

Why is December 2015 in the thread title? Had no idea this was coming out this month.
OK, just got done with the finale. No spoilers whatsoever but all in all I felt less giddy after this than after Daredevil. It has a lot of highlights and almost no downsides but the only thing it really did for me is to get me excited for the Luke Cage show. *shrug* Still a fun marathon.
In the first ep we see

December was the original release timeline. I never took the time to update it.
Dnofrio brought something to DD that isn't in JJ. Tennant is amazing, and overall I think the characters are much stronger and more compelling. That said, massive ass-kicking does has its place. I think that is what is most notably absent.

I'm only on ep 2, but

I'm disappointed I didn't recognize Simpson's name when he first showed up in the series.
Just finished. Very, very pleased. It definitely isn't daredevil, and nor should it have been.
During the middle it gets a little slow, but the character development is A+. Echoing above statement that it doesn't leave you with a giddy feeling kinda like DD did, but tbh I think that is good. The stories that this JJ series pulled from are (mostly) incredibly dark and revolve around pervasive and ongoing sadism of a super high level. Definitely a level higher than we are used to seeing in a lot of TV, and DEFINITELY higher than other live action Marvel productions.
There is a lot to love about JJ, and I cant wait to rewatch it. But expecting to come out with a warm fuzzy feeling at the end just isnt reasonable imo.
When did the episodes actually go up? I thought that Netflix usually puts series up at midnight, but I checked a few times and didn't notice them up until the evening. Only got through one episode last night, but thus far did not disappoint. I'm only disappointed that I won't be able to binge watch this weekend.
