It's kind of funny how the female detective is basically Willem Defoe from Boondock Saints but useless

I want a show where Night Nurse starts out helping heroes in her house and then the season ends with her getting a bitchin underground hospital
I wanted to like this, but I didn't. It had its moments, like the Attics raid and Seagate backstory were decent. Overall, it was "eh". Definitely better than most shit on cable, but pretty lame/tame compared to other Marvel stuff. The "ahmygerdCOPDRAMA" was Retarded with a capital R and didn't belong. Bleh.
Spoiler: show

Spoiler: show
Finally got through it last night after NYCC. It really felt like a Blaxploitation (albeit one of the failed ones) series the more and deeper I got into it. From start to finish. From Main characters to sub ones. It all screamed disco era plot devicing to me. Daredevil had ridiculous The Raid level action, JJ had a Irishman that was glorious from jump, and Luke was a modern THROWBACK to his 70s comic book series. Doesn't make up for it but, at least for me, explains a lot of the look and feel of it all.
i was totally cool with the blaxploitation themes and everything.
but the awful dialogue, super basic plot, terrible acting, just ugh
it could have been so much better and so good. really wanted to love the show.
I think the problem with Luke Cage stand alone show was that his character was already introduced in another show and this show, feels more like a spin-off than an individual story arc. They should have done something different in JJ and let the romance between JJ and LC develop in The Defenders. With DD and IF constantly ragging on Luke about dating an unstable alcoholic. lol Hell, now when The Defenders roll out, you now have a "love-triangle" between Night Nurse and JJ and LC? Seriously, do we need a love drama?
Cage's series should have introduced us to the hero and gradually let us experience him testing the limits of his powers. It might sound cliche, but it would have a better impact and felt less negative than how it did to many people. Also, let's be honest, emotional speeches are not Mike Coulter's thing. Isn't Luke's character someone who says very little, but very profound? I've only seen excerpts from his books, but that's how he came off in my eyes. A no nonsense, straight to the point kinda guy.
That's as no nonense as you can get.
end battle so lame lol
no cuban blend coffee for u
This show sucked and then it sucked more and finished by turning into a black hole of suck.
I loved it!
Oh fuck. Lmfao!!!
