Magic Critical Damage Cap

Related to magic, but unrelated to much else. I went out and tried the MCrit Atmas tonight just to eyeball them and make my testing of Goetia Gloves +2 a little faster. They're nothing special at all. I went 8/30 MCrits with both on, Hecate's, Wise Strap, and AF3+2 BLM gloves. Far from conclusive, but they're probably more on the order of 10% each than anything else. Unless there's an absurdly low MCrit rate cap, anyway.

So, I did some testing that indicates that MCrit damage caps at +30 (40 MAB total). Pretty randomly low cap, imop.

After those two tests, I put both on and went back out:
[00:21:21]eradico 350 -> 419 :: 350/2.04 ~= 172 base damage, 419/172 ~= 2.44 = +40 MAB from MCrit (MCrit damage+30%)
[00:20:18]hands+2 362 -> 433 :: 362/2.05 ~= 177 base damage, 433/177 ~= 2.45 = +40 MAB from MCrit (MCrit damage+30%)
[00:18:36]no hands, 338 -> 407 :: 338/1.97 ~= 172 base damage, 407/172 ~= 2.37 = +40 MAB from MCrit (MCrit damage+30%)

So yeah, MCrit damage caps at 30. I'm going to have to repeat the Impenetrable Tower test without Goetia Gloves +2 on, but I doubt it'll change anyone's life if I leave it as it is for tonight. Also, I DCed when I tried to change Atma and had like 10 minutes left in zone, so I'm done for the night.

Yea someone had done similar tests on here and had the same results. I'm on my phone now, so hard to search for it.

Ah, good to know. I can't find it when I search, but it's probably just bad luck. I did some more in depth searches before when I was writing this page and basically only came up with Suiram and Kaeko's original testing.

I repeated the Impregnable Tower test and got MCrit+30, so I was hitting the cap last time.

Yea, kinda sucks when you have nice pieces of testing that are buried deep in threads and hard to find

Went and tested "Gives day/Weather bonuses." It does just appear to be the atma form of an Obi.
