No he can't. He tried when he confronted God following War in the Sun (which we see in the flashback sequence later on) and it doesn't exactly end well for him.

I always took the implication that he could but God moves faster than Jesse could speak. Hence, God prevents Jesse from actually issuing any commands (they all end in elipses, I think).

Really enjoyed that finale and the whole season really, can't wait for the next season. Such a fun show even though it gets quite dark at times. >.>

Thought for sure "god" was going to turn out to be Satan. One of the first things he says to say who he was is "the morning star" but that title is only given to Lucifer in the Bible. That would've been an interesting turn.

The gunman shooting that angel chick made no sense unless he recognized she was an angel. I suppose her not being dead after that mihgt be a clue or maybe he just doesn't care, just seemed kind of thrown in there after they realized they forgot to include him in the episode.

Finally got to watch it today, and even though it took them an entire fucking season to actually start the story, nice that it's actually getting to what the comic was about.

It's to show he has magic pistols that can kill angels and demons (making him the Angel of Death). Fiore returned without DeBlanc.

I recommend reading the comics. While the show is fantastic, it won't be able to do a lot from the comics, I think.

I'm not sure how good of an idea burning the entire first season solely on setup was. First episode of season 2 was way more in line with what I expect from this show.

They're already diverting heavily from the comics. Given the long dragged out nature of how The Walking Dead has been handled, I think it's definitely a good choice for them to not follow too closely.

I agree, but most of the major plots are hopefully going to stay, and it looks like it will.

I loved season 1 and I'm glad they used it to develop the characters
