It was a "FFXIV gave me a virus!" thread where everything wrong was SEs fault.

Probably the most far-fetched theory on new jobs I've seen so far, but it's amusing the shit out of me early on a Monday.
Spoiler: show
Haha yep. I went back through this thread the other day and the majority of the threads are gone. It's like a library with a well kept catalog, but most of the books are missing. Some of you people need to start quoting the good bits. A lot of the threads linked get removed.

I hope this thread never ends.
"could just give it emnity modifiers on their skills and remove the positional requirements."
Lol. I think its a joke but still that thread is epic. Waiting for someone to say
" have a whm ds medica 2 and provoke !
Wasn't there some video of a Dragoon(or Lancer, not sure) tanking Titan HM back before 2.1?
I could imagine making use of either Savage Blade or Skull Sunder (both creating enmity and cross-class skills) could at least give you a small amount of enmity generation.
Also don't forget that buffs that enhance your damage(which Lancer would get a load of) also enhances your enmity generation (especially for Flash).
Citation needed on every single part of that. A dragoon tanking Titan and not getting evaporated by tables or stomps? Wouldn't Savage be useless without Fast to combo from? Since when do physical damage skills enhance magical enmity generation from Flash?
I believe its comfirmed that Flash has some sort of STR mondifier to it. For Skull Sunder (idk about savage blade) there is an enmity effect in the base skill and the combo action increases the potency (of the damage?).
Edit: Here's a reddit link if that counts for anything https://pay.reddit.com/r/ffxiv/comme...flash_testing/
Last I looked at this topic was when people wanted to tank as Pugilist.
Modified by weapon damage and STR, yes, but as far as I'm aware using damage cooldowns doesn't do jack for it. Raging Strikes, maybe, since it isn't B4B's Physical Damage, but I'm still leery of that and thought it had been disproved back in 2.0.

There's a fun bit of tears here about shitty DPS who get killed by things.

Every single post from Foo01: "Elitistelitistelitistelitistelitistjerkelitistejr kelitistjerkjerkelitistelitistelitistjerkjerkjerk. .."
This was bound to happen, somebody blaming the playerbase for the delay of the next weapon upgrade:
What's sad is that this data of people not finished forgets to count in the fact of 193 pages of bitching, and people who are not finished because they cried and just gave up saying they weren't going to do it, until they fixed the drop rate... So thanks to those guys, my progression comes to a halt... Nice...
On one hand people complain about not enough new content, and options. Then on another hand, people wanted the update to the Animus to be pushed back cause "they" weren't finished yet. Damn shame.
The mountains of bitching aside (both on the OF and here), for the purposes of what I'm saying the only number that really matters is the amount of people that have completed weapons. To be fair, it quite possibly was...there's been a TON of bitchfest threads about animus being too hard.
Any shortfall stated by the developer should be blamed squarely on the design of the system, and the final outcomes it offers. Not because people simply didn't do it, or complained about it. Those two things are just symptoms of something that hasn't been executed all that well by the Dev team.
Basically they've said to us in the Live letter:
- We fucked up, not many people did the upgrades
- We don't want to fuck up again like that, so we're delaying it to get it right, please look forward to it!
But yeah, how something pretty vapid imposed on us by the Dev team becomes the players fault, I will never understand.
Calling the atma/animus quests "new content" is a fucking joke.
All it does is require you to spam old, boring, unchallenging content ad nausea.
Other than a single NPC with a few lines of dialogue to start the quest it has added nothing at all to the game.
Hmmm. On this day, the OF proposes a fun social experiment. A final solution, perhaps?

The guy that made that thread is a total turd. Here's some of his other works:
In fairness though, the atma upgrade process does lean towards the ridiculous. I consider myself lucky to have finished after roughly 400 fates. Overall, the atma and animus upgrade processes are fine, but it's just the parameters that need a tweak. The atma droprate is a bit too low and the books cost a bit too much. Easy to correct should SE deem it necessary.
The dude's still a turd, though. Totally dense. He acts like he's unaware that SE already acknowledged the discontent with atma and animus upgrades. His multitude of threads is beyond unnecessary.
I'd love to see this guy's reaction to Tanaka back in his "working as intended" FFXI prime.
