I thought it was the other way around, due to Sword Oath and IB being a decent deeps booster?

IB is a decent dps boost, and so is Unchained despite the long recast. I dunno about any other PLD, but I find the DPS with my favorite job in the game to be pretty poor, and that's with gear making me capable of taking on Twintania.

Sword Oath on the other hand is pretty strong and I see no reason why they wouldn't be able to beat a non-defiance WAR.

Yeah dunno what you're talking about. WAR in defiance > PLD in shield oath. PLD in sword oath = WAR with no defiance. The gap is even more prominent in single tank situations since PLD benefits from Storm's Eye. The issue is WAR loses all it's tools without defiance, whilst PLD can still SW and CoS.

If you're playing easy content maybe, but in coil when your WAR OT really have no choice but to spend stacks on defensive stuff, it really shows.

Uh, wat? The "defensive stuff" you spend wrath on is a 300 potency WS (that doesn't suffer from the defiance damage penalty). WARs basic combos alone puts them ahead of PLD thanks to Maim and Storm's Eye (this buffs the PLD deeps too, which you can attribute to the WAR if you wanna further the point). Not to mention WAR has superior offensive CDs (Berserk, Internal Release, Infuriate and Unchained). If your WAR aren't using all of the above they're awful, admittedly Unchained might be a little rough to work in to your combos initially.

People defending being FORCED to do this with 16 random people and not being able to join as a full premade group. I have never ever played a MMORPG or heard of one that forces people to play with PUG's in raid content and doesn't let them form premades for it.

Do you happen to have a quote from SE saying that we'd be able to queue for this dungeon at the same time with three parties at the very beginning? As far as I know, we've only been told it was 24-man content. I think most of this anger is based around false assumptions.
