I have a portfolio on scottrade that I started up over 10 years ago with 3k with that exact same mindset, good as gone, and it’s paid off tremendously. Hoping to do the same with this.

It’s more fear of the unknown. At least with poker I know it’s inevitable I could make my money back if I ever have a bad night.

What is bugging me, probably because I'm at work and not able to fully immerse myself in this enough to understand, is that it is seemingly annoying as shit to move currencies from one place to another and one currency to another...at least during initial setup.

I have a small amount of ETH / LTC that I want to partially convert to XRP / XLM / whatever and I seemingly have to establish wallets all over the fucking place. Pretty annoying.

Usually on the exchanges, they have wallets for each currency supported. For instance if you have BTC and you are converting to ETH, after the conversion it ends up in your ETH wallet and then you need to send it to whatever wallet you have off the exchanges.

Also, just for a historical reference, when people that have no idea what something is or how it works and start buying it anyway in massive quantities, it ALWAYS goes badly.

Thank you for the snarky response. I have done that. I guess I wasn't specific enough in my question. What websites does everyone here use? Which ones are legitimate? There are tons but when you are talking about lots of money better to go with something someone else has experience with. I am not necessarily going to go out and buy a bunch I am just curious about them.

Yeah I'm definitely not looking to sink tons of money in, primarily because I'm a scientist and don't have tons of money, but I'm a bit eh on long term investment right now as a whole and this is at least a level of investment I can be slightly interested in.

Haha Ripple was on my radar for weeks and I was reluctant to pull the trigger because it remained stagnant. Currently looking into the marijuana coins hoping some of the dispensaries in Southern California pick up on one of them.

Potcoin is an absolute trash coin, i only bought when i did to profit off the people attempting to profit off a nonexistent post show moon. I wouldn't touch it at all right now tbh, but i've seen weirder things happen.
