TigerDirect and Newegg has been accepting Bitcoins for awhile now. I never got into it, but from other forums I've read people claiming mining has died. Ebay recently had many 7950's for $125-$150. I had sold mine for $317 back in January.
gpu mining has been dead for a long time.
Might as well bump the old thread instead of making a new one.
Looks like it's on its way to $20,000 again. Anyone else invested in this or any other altcoins?
I'm hedged against it.
apparently there's a ton of extremely leveraged buys coming in out of japan that are behind the recent spikes. that will end well i'm sure!
Meh. I've been regretting all year the one btc I mined back in the day selling it for ~$400.
How long until Hollywood makes a film about the Bitcoin bubble bursting?
who understands this crypto-financial chicanery!?
Zet pls explain
I've considered trying to mine a few times but when checking the calculators for currencies it seems like it would take a long time to make anything worthwhile since I only have one GPU to use, unless I want to attempt to mine on my 1070.
You won't make any money.
One of the uses I've seen mentioned a lot is using blockchain technology to battle counterfeit products. The idea is that as a product comes down the supply chain, they add tracking data to the blockchain and give customers access via scanning a code with a mobile app once it reaches their hands. This opens up transparency to see where the product came from which would make it a bit more difficult to duplicate.
This will be the year of ETH as much as I hate it, it's price reached a hard bottom at $350ish from the crypto kitty madness crashing it's transactions, should easily be above 500 soon.
I lost my LTC wallet years ago so I am saddened by LTC most likely hitting $250 soon.
Iota is a really interesting coin that doesn't use blockchain technology but atm is overpriced as it just jumped from 1$ to 6$ on the back of no use and rumor news. It is a very fine line between scam and unrealized futuretech though.
XRP probably a good buy if held til EOY2018, XLM is high at the moment but keeps having great news, still cheap enough to toss some $ into for shits and giggles though.
FOR THE LOVE OF GOD NEVER USE BITTREX.COM. They allow you to deposit without verification and then lock any amount of withdrawal until you verify which get's turned down by an automated system for months/forever
There have been several mining opportunities in the past few months that would have netted you 400% gains easily if you partook in their delegate system. ARK for example, just keep your eye out for new ico's and mining pools.
If anyone knows how to recover a lost LTC wallet let ur boi know
edit: rereading this thread made me proud of past me.
Damn homie. Yeah I'll keep a lookout. My only real worry is if I need to RMA the gpu. Any stories of denial because the card was mined on?
No idea, never mined anything.
Software or hardware wallet? Hardware wallets are the way to go these days (Trezor or Ledger) as long as you keep your backup phrases secure you are able to recover them even if your wallet it gets stolen or lost. You just get a new hardware wallet, set it up as recovery, enter in your password phrases and your coins are restored.
Also LTC exploded past $200 a few minutes ago and reached a high of $234 but now holding steady at $221.
