Haven't watched it yet but Rick already implies this back in Season 1 with the whole Gazorpazorp (sp?) episode. But I always appreciate the call backs and confirmations

Rick Potion #9 was at least from our view the first time that Morty experienced abandoning a universe since everyone except his family became Cronenburgs. It is possible that the Cronenburg episode was his second hop and that the Illuminati Squirrels incident was his first that was mind wiped, but we now know for a fact that he has abandoned at least two universes with Rick abandoning many more.

Did anyone else think it odd that Rick was deleting moments where Morty was right about things? If Rick constantly deleted memories of times that Morty actually made an intelligent comment or observation, would it in turn lower his intelligence over time thereby keeping him in check?

I thought that was kind of the point. Because of his enormous pride Rick deleted any memory where Morty was right or made Rick foolish. Not to keep Morty in check though, just because Rick is kind of an asshole. If you look when Morty is restoring memories one is he beat Rick at checkers. As for lower Morty's intelligence. I don't think it would lower it, it would just keep him from ever getting smarter.

I think keeping Morty from getting smarter might be huge if Evil Morty was his original Morty. If he can keep him from getting smarter, he can prevent himself from "creating" another Evil Morty

It seemed a bit more straight forward and petty to me. I base this mostly of the memories of Rick losing at checkers though. I mean if i were a super genius I wouldn't want my dumb ass grandson to know that he beat me at such a simple game or that I didn't know what granite actually was.

Unless he's allowed to change or otherwise fake his universe ID (C-137), it stands to reason that the first universe was his and our Morty's. Rick's original comment on it in the Cronenberg episode was a fourth wall-breaking commentary on how such a deus ex machina is lazy storytelling; I don't think it should necessarily be considered absolute evidence that it was something he had done before.
