    http://www.gamecity.ne.jp/sengoku4/img/big_logo.png

    Spoiler: show
The game will feature over 50 playable military commanders, including all characters who previously appeared in the series, new actions like “Godspeed Action” and “Musou Gokui,” which boosts your attack power when your practice skill gauge is maxed out, renewed character action types and growth systems, a “Wandering Military Exercise” mode where you meet other military commanders and collect items, and a renewed commander creation mode to make a Warring States history all your own.
The series—in which players control military commanders overflowing with personality, and mow down swarming enemies on the stage of Japan’s Warring States period—adds a “great number” of new characters for the fourth game.

All the commanders who previously appeared in the series will be playable in Samurai Warriors 4, and completely new commanders are being added, as well. Over 50 characters will be playable in total.

Newly revealed characters include Nobuyuki Sanada and Yoshitsugu Otani. Sanada, voiced by Daisuke Ono, uses a sword in battle and can clean sweep his opponents with a high-speed rotation. Otani, voiced by Satoshi Hino, uses a baton that fires shock waves and beams when you swing it.

Other confirmed characters include Yukimura Sanada, Inahime, Mitsunari Ishida, Hanbei Takenaka, and Kanbei Kuroda.
Samurai Warriors 4 will launch for PlayStation 3 and PS Vita on March 20 in Japan, this week’s issue of Famitsu reveals.

The magazine reveals new playable character Hisahide Matsunaga, voiced by Koji Ishii. Nobunaga Oda, Takeda Shingen, Mitsuhide Akechi, Nochime, Kunoichi, and Sakon Shima are also shown.

I hope this comes to the U.S, even if just as a download only title. I miss my Samurai Warriors. I played the first one for days and could never get hold of any of the sequels.

Producer Hisashi Koinuma expects a NA Summer 2014 release
Responding to a fan query on Twitter, producer Hisashi Koinuma seemed to confirm an English localisation.

He was less certain about release window, saying “perhaps, next summer” – presumably northern summer 2014.

The PlayStation 3 and Vita title arrives in Japan in March, but had not been confirmed for western release prior to Koinuma’s comment.

Tecmo Koei is normally pretty good about bringing its Warriors games west; the Dynasty Warriors series and its expansions almost always make the jump, although some special re-releases and ports have been neglected, and only the Wii version of Samurai Warriors 3 made it out, leaving PS3 and PSP fans in the cold.

Samurai Warriors 4 boasts over 50 characters, and in an interesting twist on the usual formula, will have two story modes, one starring Yukimura Sanada, the franchise’s poster boy, and the other his brother Nobuyuki Sanada, who fought for opposing factions. Like Warriors Orochi and Samurai Warriors Chronicles, players will bring more than one character to battle and switch at will between them.

    Create a character explained

    Spoiler: show

Samurai Warriors 4 has back stories for characters to see, but instead of seeing Yukimura Sanada’s story you can play through your own. Samurai Warriors 4 has a create a samurai mode where you can make your own warrior by choosing your character’s gender, facial features, hair style, weapon, and armor.

After your warrior is made you can select characters on the map to trigger events or missions.

Player created characters can still utilize the on the fly character switching system where you can switch between two warriors on the battlefield.

During conversations your answers effect how other warlords view your character.

Toyotomi Hideyoshi and Nene caps, new details for heirloom items

    Spoiler: show

The latest character shots for Samurai Warriors 4 featuring both Toyotomi Hideyoshi and his wife Nene are on display. Nene is famous for being devoted to her husband, but don’t let her love fool you when she’s rocking the battlefield with those twin swords and minimalist armor. They also look pretty color co-ordinated in their yellow flowing pieces.

There’s also word that there will be heirloom items which you can bring into battle. These items work similar to other items you can bring along to a battle. However, unlike those one-use-per-battle versions, heirloom items will be reusable after a certain recharge time. You’ll need to defeat enemy commanders with specific conditions in order to unlock them.

They are just making Date look more and more badass with every game he's been in. I remember when he looked like a plain ol' kid with a funny helmet and pieced together garb. Now he looks like someone you don't fuck with.
