Vermont here, unseasonably warm today so its going to rain a shit ton, flood watches and what not, and then it will be cold af tomorrow so we're expected to have up to 1 inch of ice after that.
It's been raining for around 14 hours now. Water backup in the basement from the floor drain in the washer/dryer area. There is a small walkout (think emergency fire escape) from one of the upstairs bedrooms. Our house is older (1927) and many homes in the area have this. Roof on that area looks to be cracked and kitchen ceiling is leaking. Off to Menards for a mega tarp for now.
We had a really strong line of storms come through here earlier (east TN) with 80mph wind gusts and heavy rain. There are reports of storm damage all over. I'm just glad my power is still on. ^^; Probably got 2" of rain in about 30 minutes though.
So we have this window here today of about 2 hours to remove snow. Currently, it has been snowing since 11 pm last night. Between 6 and 8 I need to get out there and remove the snow because after that it will warm up just enough to rain for a few hours lightly, then by 2, it will start to freeze again. So unless I want a big ass block of ice in my driveway, I have to play this right lol.
We only got 2-3 inches or so but it's packed and is tough to move. I have a shared drive and it has a slant, sort of a ---- then \ before you hit the street if that makes sense. My little snow thrower and I almost wiped on the slant numerous times and I couldn't get it all because of how the city plows and it builds at the base of the drive. My hands are absolutely aching right now. Hopefully the naproxin kicks in soon. Round two tomorrow right?!
I'm only happy that this year seems to only snow on the weekends/mondays. I HATE when it snows and i'm not able to clear my driveway before myself/wife leaves. Once that shit is packed in, if it doesn't warm up, you have a pack of ice that is near impossible to remove.
This year, i'm able to get out there before any cars hit it, making it super easy.
We've had a few strong storms lately, but what's been awesome is the swings from 70's to freezing and back. Mother nature go home, you're drunk!
Cold and overcast, but not raining.
The last 7 days here in SC has featured freezing temps, snow twice, flooding, tornadoes, and a couple 75 degree beautiful days. I'm getting weather whiplash.
It didn't stick on roads either time, but it definitely snowed. Twice. Two separate events it was mid-30's and we got snow, looked pretty, and then melted a few hours later. And in between, 70 degree days, tornadoes, and floods.
Here's the bridge downtown on 2/8/20. We probably got about an inch of it stuck to elevated things like cars/signs/etc before it went poof.
I'm so jelly man. Been a while since we went through an entire winter with zero snow. Didn't get to take a trip to NY this year to visit the in-laws either, which is usually our sure shot that my daughter gets to build a snow man.
Her and the wife are going at the end of the month, but might be a wash out by then.

Going to have a 40 degree temperature drop over the next 24 hours. It's currently at 32F and by this time tomorrow it will be -10F (-25~ with the wind chill).
Going to be 0 here soon. But yeah tomorrow is going to suck hard:
Spoiler: show
So we made the front page of Reddit.
They closed my daughter's school today...for snow that just now started at 4pm.

We're never going to live that photo down.
Well, I took my daughter our to make some snow Angel's and such and within 5 minutes we heard a wreck.
Tbh it's usually people from up north (such as my wife) who don't understand that we don't get snow. We get ice and then a layer of snow amd idgaf who you are or how much experience driving in snow you have you're gonna fail.
