Not sure if this should go into anime or not.

I haven't kept up with Wakfu since the end of the second season, so I missed the initial news of this. Figured someone else may have as well.

They've already met their initial goal for a dub version, and it looks like it won't be long till the first stretch goal, which will be to include the original french audio with subtitles.

how do the stretch goals work for people who have already pledged?

Naturally, if we reach our first stretch goal, all Blu-ray pledges will be upgraded to include French audio with English and Spanish subtitles. And we will all be really, really happy.

If we reach our second stretch goal, all Blu-ray pledges will be upgraded to include the two "extra" episodes, Noximilien and Ogrest. We may start to act annoyingly superior to the other departments, and brag loudly about the quality of our fanbase at the office coffee machines.

If we reach our third stretch goal, all pledges that include a Season 1 Blu-ray will also receive a Season 2 Blu-ray. (Not a bad value, if we do say so ourselves!) We may find ourselves constructing Tofu outfits from materials available around the offices and strutting around the halls, pecking lesser departments about the head and shoulders.

If we are incredibly fortunate and reach our fourth stretch goal, we will all be passed out from delirious joy (and possibly some alcohol). But once we wake up, we will finish working on these OVAs and include them in the Season 2 Blu-ray. However, as these 3 additional OVAs are not 100% complete yet, this may delay delivery of some pledges. We will keep you informed if this magnificent event occurs!

With the $40 donation for getting the blu-ray possibly including both seasons, that's a crazy great deal.

I saw this pop up on Kickstarter the other night and am clueless about it in every way. Was really curious if anyone knows more about it and if its something worth backing for their stretch goals. My main question is what kind of anime is this? Is it real action packed or is it real story driven and complex? The trailer makes you believe its action but I know better than that. Plus the fact that it is made with flash has me really curious and interested.

I watched the entire series a couple months ago and really enjoyed it. Character development is good, plot line was interesting, and the pacing was just about right. I'd put it down in the comedic action/swords & sorcery genre (akin to Slayers).
There were a few things that really bothered me though. First, I learned that listening to French for prolonged periods of time gives me a migraine. More importantly though, this is based on a MMORPG world that they assume you know of, including all of its esoteric terminology. None of the usual, "here's an episode or two to explain a few things about the world" that usually accompany lore-heavy series.

Overall I'd highly recommend it, especially if you enjoy this type of series and have the patience to figure out the world's vocabulary on your own.

I was introduced to it with the line "imagine if France came up with DragonBall Z but it didn't take forever for a fight".

It's based on a game called Dofus from the early 2000s. This show came out in 2008, IIRC, and they released an MMO for it in 2012, with SquareEnix running the American servers. Wakfu is 1000 years after Dofus. I have yet to find someone that has watched it and doesn't like it. The MMOs are strategy RPGs, and free-to-play, with a lot of stuff locked on free accounts.

Someone on 4chan fansubbed it a while ago and distributed it via torrents. The aspect ratios were weird though. Having an official release would be awesome.

Though, I'm guessing that this KS only partially covers the funds, with Ankama paying some out of pocket. Cause that much, VAs get paid way shitter than I ever imagined (and I didn't think it was much to begin with).

It's about the same league as Avatar/Korra. It's got action, it's got story (though not as deep as most anime, it's still got a bit of the episodic, examples for kids stuff, but nowhere NEAR as bad about it as the new Thundercats was), .
The duck aside, it's not particularly racy, maybe a little bit more than what you'd get on US broadcast, but nothing any sane person should worry about.
As for immature comedy, no, not really. Not the usual cartoon stuff that makes you want to pound your head into the wall. That said, it is a kids show, so there is some simpleness to the hijinks at times. It does have references that'd pass over kids heads, but any decently media buffed parent would get.

That bath scene is really as racy as it gets, and they do a good job of making it just a silly tease. Everything else should be fine to watch in the living room.

Recently hit $150k to include the Nox backstory episode and Ogrest OVA with all tiers that have the Blu-Ray reward.

I'm pretty surprised at how well it's been able to keep the momentum so far, with more than 12k each of the past 4 days. Shouldn't be too hard to hit 200k for season 2.
