Is Kara no Kyoukai worth watching / helpful? I want more story but I refuse to read LN.

Kara no Kyoukai is amazing but doesn't really have anything to do with F/S. There are some similarities/cross-overs but it doesn't add to the story here.
KnK is the same universe? I know there are references and concepts that are similar (origin, etc) but ultimately it's a separate thing. Spiral Paradox is easily one of the best things I've ever watched.
KnK along with Tsukihime take place in the same universe as Fate, yeah. Here's a timeline of events (obvious spoilers for certain things):

Unless i got it wrong didnt Tokiomi say in zero that Kireis father was also the overseer in the 3rd war? if that timeline is right that made him 20 at the time.
so I've not seen any Fate/ stuff, where should I begin as a newcomer?
sweet, thanks
Damn I started playing FSN again because of this. Now starting from scratch since it's been god knows how long and I never got to Heaven's Feel. Hell I'm starting back from the beginning just so I can remember the details of Fate and UBW. This may take a while.
followup question because I didn't see it in that post where/how does Kaleid or whatever fit into things?
Pretty sure the only place Kaleid fits in involves a box of tissues and some alone time.
Just watched the last episode of UBW

#2: Yes.
I may try to join in a little later, but there's a group on reddit doing a read/re-read of the VN's at a set pace with time for discussion. Looks interesting:
