I would have preferred it be a 26 episode anime but hey whatever. The quality will be higher this way.

I'm skeptical of Shaft getting Extra. Mind, I only played like an hour or two of it, but aside from the obligatory headtilt, they can be pretty hit or miss with their works.

Then again, ufotable had God Eater.

short of playing the original visual novel you COULD watch the Studio Deen version of Fate/Stay Night which encompasses the "Fate" path for the visual novel, the viewing order was originally supposed to be each of the three paths for Fate'Stay Night in the order "Fate" "Unlimited Blade Works" followed by "Heaven's Feel" and Finally Fate/Zero which is a prequel that contains spoilers for all the other paths.

If it's just the anime and you don't really care about being spoiled, especially for Heaven's Feel which isn't out yet, you could Watch Studio Ufotables Fate/Zero followed by Fate/Stay Night Unlimited Blade Works, both of which are great, Ufotable is releasing Heaven's Feel later this year in 3 seperate movies, not sure if all 3 are coming this year or just the first part.

I'd say the problem is that it isn't nearly as good.

My opinion and advice is that UBW is a perfectly good entry point -- the quality is high and more likely to spark interest in the others.
