I agree, I'd do UBW and then either wait for Heaven's Feel and watch that before Zero or just watch Zero before if you're impatient

Is it OK to start with Grand Order?
There's a few different ways that you can start with Fate. The path I took was:
Fate/Stay Night: Fate (Visual Novel) > Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works (UFOTABLE Anime) > Fate/Stay Night:Unlimited Blade Works (Visual Novel) > Fate/Stay Night: Heaven's Feel (Visual Novel) > Fate/Zero.
I'm not really too keen on visual novels, but decided to give it a good. By the end of Fate route, I was hooked. At the very least, even if you don't like visual novels, I'd read through the Fate part. It's a huge exposition dump that details the world and such very well and isn't really explained as much in UBW/HF and Zero. After watching UBW anime, I decided to read it just to see the differences between the two, it was worth it.
Fate/Zero is a prequel to the series and spoils parts of the visual novel (all 3 routes), though not so much. Either way, I'd save Fate/Zero for after you see/read Heaven's Feel.
Essentially, read Fate > Watch UBW anime > wait for Heaven's Feel trilogy > Fate/Zero.
If there's anything I can say about any Fate media, it's avoid the Studio Deen adaptation. That was my first experience with Fate and it honestly nearly turned me off from wanting to know more.
If there's only 1 thing you watch, make it UBW anime.
Right now it's only 1 one hour special though think there are supposed to be more so seems kind of pointless to start there. So far it didn't seem to have any real relation to the others plot wise though you see some of the same old servants and such. The game is bit farther along I think and getting a bunch more stuff this year so could go that route I guess
I personally feel that you must have some introduction to the FATE route before doing Zero, or you won't get the full experience. The Deen adaptation is not good, but I feel that if you don't understand Saber's character and motivations from FATE then you won't understand the Zero subtext for the conflict between Rider and Saber in Zero.
Then I'd say do the VN. I know it's not everyone's cup of tea but one route won't take long and it'd still a pretty fun experience
Damn it. Fine, time to track down the VNs then

Anime censored and changed that, but in VN there's sex and it has actual significance to the plot
Pretty sure there's a version of the VN that skips over the sexy bits, but I haven't personally played it.
There's a PS2 version of the VN without the adult material and with an updated version of the FATE ending called Reality Nua.
Fate/stay night Heaven’s Feel Film part 1 PV (October 14th).
Looks fantastic and it doesn't seem they are re-using animation from Unlimited Blade Works
It's happening
Niiiice!
Looks absolutely beautiful, I can't wait for this to start.
Fate/Apocrypha will keep me invested until at least this.
just came across this, had to share, enjoy!
