Wasn't there a UBW movie already? I don't get why there needs to be a series unless the movie was wholly lacking. Excited about Heaven's Feel, though I wish they did that as a series similar to Zero.

Literally diamonds right now.
Also, there's only so much you can show in a movie. Redoing UBW will let them flesh it out a lot more.
Which gives them the opportunity to make Heaven's Feel a TV series, sometime in the future, then do the Fate/hollow ataraxia route as another movie.
As long as it's all by ufotable, I'll follow them anywhere.
UBW as a ~20 episode series could work pretty well, depending on how much supplementary stuff they pull in. Heaven's Feel as a movie though... I'm not sure. It's a lot to cram in.
Maybe they'll do HF in multiple movies, like Kara no Kyoukai. That would be awesome.
I would approve of a mini-movie series of HF.
Oh man, I can't wait to see what the Blu-Ray prices are going to be, if Fate/Zero's is anything to go off of.
This went kind of wacky but I'm pretty damned excited about all of this. I really do hope Heaven's Feel gets multiple movies as some others have said, though. It's a LOT to fit into an hour and a half or whatever they'd be planning.
As long as we get a scene of Rider flustered about her height, I'll be happy.
I can't wait. they'll release the price months in advance, so I will know how much to save up until release.
Spoiler: show
new UBW trailer
Dayum, based on the snippets of action it's already better than the first series animation wise. That one overhead shot of the city was pretty nice.
6 days.
Episode 0 (episode 1, but prologue) and Episode 1 (technically episode 2) will both be over one hour long. The first three days will be covered, leaving 24 episodes for the meat of the story.
wohoo ep0 is out! so good
That was perfect.
I don't think my heart can take much more of Rin with her hair down.
"So this is a battle between Servants..." said Rin.
Now that's what I'm talking about! Amazing.
So should I still watch Fate/Zero first? I'm a bit confused, because some people are saying it'll ruin some stuff, but it's a prequel. Then others have said it won't really matter. So confusing with this thread.
Short answer: no.
Long answer: the series started with the Fate/Stay Night visual novel. It's divided into 3 routes: Fate (Saber), Unlimited Blade Works (Rin), and Heaven's Feel (Sakura), unlocked in that order. They're not sequels, though; they're alternate timelines that split off depending on choices you make. They each tell a completely different story with different themes and more/less focus on various characters.
Fate/Zero was written later. It takes place 10 years before Stay Night, but is intended to be read/watched after. It spoils quite a few major reveals from Stay Night. Now, you can watch Zero first, if you really want to, and it won't ruin Stay Night, but it's better if you watch it after Heaven's Feel.
Fate/Hollow Ataraxia (VN) comes after both.
Whatever you do, don't watch the Deen anime. It's shit.
Ideally, you should read the entire VN before touching anything else in the series. However, you can start with the new UBW adaptation without any problems, really. I'd still recommend reading the VN if you enjoy this one, though. It's really damn good.
