I used to enjoy doing that, too. Even more fun when you bring in specific regs to back it up, they just don't know what to do with themselves.
i dont even need regs usually; nobody argues with the only yeoman in the building without ammo, and when they do, they bring a gun too fucking small to play with me.
i did not die today
good for me, sucks for the rest of you
Just went longboarding for 2 hours in the dark. It was my oldest boy, my nephew and myself riding down hills in SW Portland. My nephew had never been on a longboard before but jumped right on and rode like a champ. No injuries and no cop incursions. Great ride. First one of the year.
Wouldn't "Random Win" make more sense as a thread title?
Ranked 2nd on a competitive hiring and got picked up full time at the police department. I should have been first but seniority came into play, I can't complain, still hired just a few days later.
Got a new Camaro.
It's a good month, finally going to be able to give back to my parents somehow, thinking a cruise.
my mom bought me a bunch of stuff from goodwill. so thats cool.
i agree actually; good call.
done
Car got smashed by an idiot.
1 week to get it fixed, but our insurance fixed a ton of stuff that we didn't quite have the funds to deal with. Some idiot had also smashed our bumper the week before at the grocery store, broke a headlight. Got that fixed free. Also got about twice as much cash as it cost to replace our car seats for our spawn. We were surprised they didn't declare it totaled-- 1998 Honda Accord, but they actually appraised it at 2k more than we paid for it. Which, cool. We were looking to sell it, anyway, so this just puts it in a better spot for it than it was before.
Was gifted this yesterday.
Edit: Making smaller...
Wasn't expecting to get TAP Financial Aid this year so I had to pay a few hundred last semester and almost 1k this semester at the start. Last week got an email that they recalculated my AID by FAFSA, was expecting to pay more. Got a check saturday that will pretty much pay me back what I put in since I magically am getting TAP now.
A couple months back we were at Sam's Club and I decided to grab a case of beer while I was there, we pointed out to the cashier multiple times that we had beer on the bottom of the cart, she's like yeah I'll get it, apparently she didn't, and the person who checks your cart on the way out also missed it, so I walked with a free case of Sam Adams Octoberfest.
g/f asked if I wanted to go back and be honest about it(I've done that kind of thing before), I told her that free beer is not a normal free thing, that's a life victory that you should hold on to
I would normally advocate for honesty but you pointed it out to her a few times, her fault, your gain.
Not recent but reminds me of the time I was at Busch Gardens. You get snacks at the start of the line and pay for them at the end of it. I got nachos and a churros. I ate the Churros while I was in the line and said "hey I got a Churros" but the lady at the register was in such a rush. I went to say it a second time and she cut me off to talk to someone else. So I was like eh fuck it.
Fuck ya - my tax refund, getting $1k+ 2nd year in a row.
Great thread idea. May you all have ample reasons to post!
Haven't had to refill anything other than Irish whiskey in our booze stash in a while, so neither the wife or I have been to a Binny's recently. Pleasantly surprised when the wife went and found out they "now" (relative to our infrequent visits) carry Appleton's. She came home with a huge jug of this delicious nectar as a surprise one Saturday. Haven't had it since our honeymoon (14 yrs)...shit's amazing.
