I could use 8 weeks off.
5 weeks? Don't you guys finish in May or some shit?
Nah, around June 9th-12th.
LA does something different than most schools where we get a full week off for Thanksgiving and three weeks off for Christmas.
But that means summers were short, and that sucks for kids/staff wanting summer jobs.
So LA just passed they are going to become like most places within two years where we only get Thursday + Friday for Thanksgiving and two weeks off for Christmas, so we can start the year around Labor Day. Keep in mind, though teachers start about two weeks before students.
As much as I will enjoy these three weeks (and not just for vacation, but for planning the spring semester), I like that we are changing. We had to go camping early last summer and it was super cold at night. I'd rather go in August and maybe stay at a beach site or something.
That's way more than 5 weeks.
I'm always happy for my former HS lady friends that I find on FB and I see in the years since that they have learned how to properly apply make up. Good for them.
Burned my last week of vacation for this week. I plan on sitting and watching Game of Thrones season 1 - 6.
This week featured graduation, grad school acceptance, great job offer, and getting laid. Won't be topping this one for a while.
To be fair I never wore much makeup outside work until my late 20's and YouTube has been my best friend lol. Wearing glasses and being blind further complicates shit but I found a great facebook group to get inspiration from. Now if the shit that actually works for my skin wasn't so expensive that would be great. Every time I leave Sephora and my husband sees the small bad that comes out to about $200 he just shakes his head lol.
I really hope I can do this next year. Fuck having to burn all my vacation/sick time in less than 6 months. I still haven't fully watched season 1 of GoT..
Indeed! Congrats on everything.
Got my Christmas shopping done in under an hour and spent less than $100.
Got my mom a slow cooker she asked for (woo hoo Macy's one day sale, got it for $25 instead of $60)
Got my dad a bucket hat (I know it sounds dumb but I got him one probably 15 years ago or more and he LOVED it, but it needs replacement)
Got my brother a K-2SO Funko Pop figure
Got my dog two tennis balls and a bag of treats
I love that I spent more for my dog than for my brother.
FYI Build a Bear workshop has their stuff buy one get one free. Don't know how long it's going to go on for. But I snagged all of the How to Train Your Dragon stuffed dragons for Noah.
I've gotten super addicted to tracking the buy/sell group for my town. Other day someone posted a train table with tracks for $60, didn't get it as so many wanted. I guess that inspired another family to sell theirs and I got it.
That shit is like $200 new. And the stuff has very very minor scratches. Worth it.
Now I want this mickey waffle iron.
I need help.
Sounds like that one episode from Married with Children lmao.
Won $100 visa gift card at holiday luncheon at work.
I'm off work til January 2nd. And sometime during that break, I'll trek to Shake Shack in West Hollywood or Glendale. Will also binge on Netflix, Vidya games, and books because fuck yea holidays.
we have 7 paid holidays. two of them fall during our training, and since we're new hires, we can't actually bid on them or be drafted to work if no one steps up. they also fall on weekends, and our training schedule is M-F. plus there's a big UFC fight next Friday night, and that Monday we start Nesting (taking live calls with more experienced reps watching over our shoulders)... so they're letting us sign up for a limited-duty over-time where we ONLY take PPV calls, not troubleshooting. most of the class signed up for 3.5 hours of that, so our trainer is gonna have a few reps come in and help us out, plus he'll be there, too.
all told i'm gonna have 16 hours of holiday pay and 3.5 hours of over-time, all on top of my base pay, before I even start working the call floor.
