    Wreck-It-Ralph 2: Ralph Breaks the Internet (November 21, 2018)

‘Wreck-It Ralph 2′ currently in the works at Disney, says composer

By Andrew Sims (@sims) at 6:15 pm, April 4, 2014 | Reviewed by Karen Rought

Wreck-It Ralph composer Henry Jackman says that Disney is currently working on the story for a planned sequel.

In an interview with Collider, Jackman was hesitant to say more because he considers Wreck-It Ralph 2 to be a project already in development.

“I can’t tell you more, not because I’m being coy, but I believe that it is officially on the cards,” he said. “I don’t know any more other than a story is indeed being written. I’d be very surprised not to. I’m not blowing my own trumpet. Forget about the music. Just the movie itself I thought was a fantastically imaginative and creative piece of work. Rich [Moore], the director, actually got involved in the writing. There was another writer and I can’t remember his name (Editor’s note: it’s Phil Johnston). Just as a concept, it would be almost remiss of them not to write another one. It’s a great idea and it’s a great character.”

The animated film following a video game character in search of a better reputation grossed $189 million in the United States and $281 million internationally. Voice actors include John C. Reilly, Jack McBrayer, Sarah Silverman, and Jane Lynch.

Speaking to Hypable to promote the DVD and Blu-ray launch of Wreck-It Ralph in February 2013, director Rich Moore told us of an idea for the sequel that he and Reilly were intrigued by.

“Are there other Ralphs [in this world we were introduced to in the original]? What would happen if another Fix It Felix, Jr. game was plugged in?” he asked. “Are there other Ralphs that are more contemporary? Is there another version of the game that was made for mobile? Are there those kind of Super Smash Bros types games where all the characters are gathered in a fighting game? What would that be like for Ralph to come face to face with those different iterations of himself?”

Wreck-It Ralph was Walt Disney Animation Studios’ 2012 film. It was followed by the wildly successful Frozen last year. Next up is Big Hero 6 this November and Zootopia in 2016.

Thanks to Collider for the interview quote.
I'm more excited that I beat 6souls to a new movie thread than the actual movie.......haha.

Not to mention Pixar focuses a majority (not all) of their time on single projects for quality reasons. They are always brainstorming ideas and mocking up scenes and character ideas.

Incredibles 2 is planned but traditionlly sequels is a big Disney thing. We've seen more Pixar sequals after their acquisition

It's notable that the writer for the Incredibles said he wouldn't be doing a sequel until he had an idea for it worthy of going back to the characters.

That being said...it actually beat Wreck-It-Ralph 2 to the announcement punch.

Nov 21st, Subtitle: Ralph Breaks the Internet, Features Disney Princesses with almost all original VA's
Taraji P. Henson will play Yess, a trend-aholic algorithm who acts like a guide to Ralph (John C. Reilly) and Vanellope (Sarah Silverman). The story sees the duo's game break down and require a replacement part, causing the characters to venture into the wild world of the internet.

The clip showed Vanellope meeting all the Disney princesses in the hopes of stirring up some trouble. But as she interacts with them — in ways that, in rapid succession, lovingly skewer the history and tropes of Disney animated classics and princesses — she develops a respect for them. And she gives them a wardrobe change.

Many of the original voices of the princesses returned for the scene, and those actresses then made an appearance at the presentation. Jodi Benson (Ariel), Paige O'Hara (Belle), Linda Larkin (Jasmine), Irene Bedard (Pocahontas), Anika Noni Rose (Tiana), Mandy Moore (Rapunzel), Kelly Macdonald (Merida), Auli'i Cravalho (Moana) and Kristen Bell (Anna) took the stage in a historic meeting of Disney princesses, causing a prolonged ovation from the crowd.
