Battlestar Galactica To Be Re-Imagined. Again.

Why anyone thinks this is a good idea is beyond me. Apparently Universal seems to think it is.

The writer of "Transcendence" and the "Prometheus" sequel (Jack Paglen) is penning the screenplay.

Looking so far to be a reboot of the original series, but still. No word if Olmos or anyone else will be involved.

I have a lot of issues with this. Part of what made the reboot so great was the cast. I don't see being able to catch that bottled lightning again, especially so soon. Why not re-do "Caprica" on the big screen and properly this time?

I know Universal might just be looking at this as a timely cash-in. And that has me worried even more. Nothing good can come of this, imho.

Edit: Seems a few articles are claiming it is a reboot of the original series. Still. No. Stop. Now.

I hated the way the new Galactica ended. Seasons 3 and 4 were very screwy, although it did have an amazing version of "All along the Watchtower" which will forever be my favorite.

Series should have stayed more sci-fi, less fantasy/God/storylines.

edit: BTW, my favorite version of that song, from Bear McCreary. There are a couple hundred variations of course.

It would make me feel (slightly) better if the writers had intended the god card to be played in season 4. But the truth of the matter is they were kind of making shit up as they went and when it came to the last episode they just didn't couldn't figure out how to tie up all the loose ends they had made without adding a Genie did it, which to me strikes me as the laziest writing imaginable and of a quality far less than we had come to expect from the series, which had some of the best episodes of any series I've ever watched.

Caprica could have been fucking amazing but they cancelled it too early imo. I enjoyed it personally. I might be alone.

The first few episodes were rough, because they honestly had a lot to establish both story wise and to earn the support of the fans.

I forgot when it was officially cancelled, but the last 4-5 episodes really took off and had a lot of potential.
