Take to the sea!
Episode 6 was pretty awesome. I'm still really enjoying the show.

Super drunk the first go around on the latest episode, but i'm going to watch all of it again tonight and see if I fucking remember any of it lol.
So the last two or three episodes have been moving really slow. I'm still enjoying everything but I wish they would get to the point.
Things are rolling now. Oh baby things are gonna roll.
The show, like the book, takes a while to really ramp up. I'd say we're about a third of the way through the book, maybe as far as halfway. Gotta re-read the books to be sure, busy with other books right now.
It's a slow-but-steady sort of ramping up. Stick with it, trust me. It will be worth it. Don't skip ahead.
The show is definitely slow-paced to the point where a lot of episodes(not this last one) end I ask myself "what even happened to advance the main plot?" But despite that I never feel bored during the show because the acting has been so good and the characters are interesting.
This. I was really happy that it slowed down after episode 4-5, but it was too much. The latest episode was awesome, but i'm kinda sad there's only two more episodes left. I'm going to be reading the entire series after the season ends. I can't wait 1 year to find out what happens next.
oh, only two more episodes in the season?
hah, just looked up the episode names. oh man. this is gonna be fun!
Watched the last 2 back to back last night.
Pretty fucking awesome. I must resist the urge to read the books.
oh, well, then...
major book spoilers
Spoiler: show
Episode 9 and 10 are out. I guessed wrong, which means holy shit season 2 is gonna be fucking great.
Also, the name of the merc security company on Eros is Carne Por la Machina, in case show folks didn't catch that when the crew arrived on Eros.
edit: Also, just remembered a bunch of shit that happens; no way they were gonna finish the whole book in two episodes lol. Season 2 will probably finish up the first book, though.
Belter creole contains a lot of Spanish, so they understood it. As for why no one questioned it... well, one hired thug is exactly like another hired thug to the people of Eros, and to the CPM employees... well, they're not the brightest hired thugs.
Dunno when season 2 is slated, alas.
Also, if you find yourself jonesing for new stuff, you could go back and watch them all again. Keep an eye on details. There are some very early references to things that have now been revealed.
I'm enjoying the show, but the missus has read the first two books and says it's deviating so far from the book that the show may as well be MH370. Kinda surprised nobody else here has said anything.
She's wrong. There's a few plotlines that are additions, a few combined characters/plots, but it's all fluff. The core shit is the same, and the most important part (narrative) is done extremely well.
To expand on the narrative:
Season 1 finale spoilers
Spoiler: show
I would also disagree. The show is very much in line with the book.
Only differences is other book bits slipped in and some pretty acceptable streamlining of some fluff. Honestly for the past horrific hellspawn SyFy has put out and is generally known for this show is amazing.
I didn't watch the finale yet, only E9. I'm REALLY enjoying where they are going with
and I'm expecting a big reveal in the finale. Gonna watch it tonight after work.Spoiler: show
I don't remember what episode number it was we last watched, think it's #6.
Spoiler: show
So yeah, she may just be misremembering, she's usually p. good about those details and she reads a fuckton. Doesn't really matter, I'm enjoying it well enough, even with weird variations in space physics ("Hurdur I dropped my wrench and it flew away").
