The Expanse - Season 6 December 10, 2021

Finished watching it because 10pm is p much bed time with my work schedule. Enjoyed it. Good intro to the MMC and Bobbie. Don't know how things will be paced, but I'm ready for this roller coaster.

I feel like they are kinda blowing it.

I feel this way too. I'm not sure if it's because the book gave me a different perspective or what. I originally started with the TV show but i'm about to start Babylon Ashes.

I also don't like the framing and the way the scenes were shot. This sounds pretentious as fuck but after watching Mr. Robot and a ton of netflix originals something about the way the Expanse was shot isn't sitting well with me.

Like the mirror scene or the random ass sex scene (i'm not opposed to them but it was so out of place).

I bought the entirety of season 2 but I don't know how long i'll keep watching it. The books seem infinitely better right now.

Did not read the books but I really enjoyed the premiere . I loved the details that went into breaching the station, venting the air to prepare for combat etc. For a SYFY budget they did very well.

That comment was kind of tongue and cheek. I will admit that having just read the books colored my opinion a bit. Also I had remembered the sequence of events wrong so feel free to ignore that one.

I do love the casting of Bobbie pretty big time.

I think this was a really strong start to the season and I'm just as eager to see it continue as I was to see it premiere. I'm not sure how good an actress the woman playing Bobbie is because I've not seen her in anything besides this and she hasn't had much screentime yet. That said, as someone who hasn't read the books, I'm loving the character concept so far. I really appreciate when female soldiers are portrayed as soldiers first, just like their male counterparts.

So I'm a little confused by the preview for next week. Didn't we see the Mormon ship in S1 and it was some big golden statue looking thing?

That's a Mormon statue. They probably built a ship around it? Also they don't do time lapses that well during space transit times. Shit is really far apart from each other.

I bet there's a bunch. She's actually six feet tall so I guess all the other Martians are taller as well.

Yeah I wished they had a taller Bobbie to really give her the imposing Spess Mehreen look too but what we got looks pretty good so far and if she can act it out I'll be pleased. It's hard to be super anal about casting with a not-HBO budgeted show and really I'm amazed how SyFy managed to not fuck things up for once.

This is the closest we gotten to actual Adaptes Astartes pls pls pls give us more Bobbie.
