I may have missed it in my 6 month break finishing season 3, but did they ever explain how the inhumans and humans were able to send Hive to that other planet/create the portal system?

I must've missed it. How much detail did it go into? Because I don't get how inhumans could've beaten Hive when he can sway them.

I did too, and I also liked Skye in the beginning too, which were both unpopular opinions at the time. It feels good to be validated in the end.

Edit: I will also concede that I didn't like Fitzsimmons one ounce in the first season, which other people seemed to like. Of course, I was proven wrong there (moreso with Fitz than Simmons)

Season 1 really had that X-Files-ish monster of the week strategy until they ramped up to the Winter Soldier events, then dealt with the fallout from it. Since then, 2 and 3 have really done a great job of shifting it more towards a continuous story. Sure, you've got your side stories or filler episodes, but most are working towards a grander scheme that's at the forefront of the season. I'm a fan of both as long as it's well done and you care about the characters. No real complaints about the series as a whole so far.

I'm about 1/2 way through S2 now. I can see what you mean now with the shift to a grand arc instead of MotW format. I can't say which I prefer more because I LOVED X-Files MotW episodes. That being said, I have suspicions about a few things already character-wise.

Skye is going to go super saiyan at some point and kill someone friendly (Besides homie in the transformation
Her dad is going to die
Simmons is going to go full Final Solution on mutants/Inhumans and leave SHIELD
Ward will end up leading Hydra
Also, Skye is going to do the whole "Discover who I really am thing" and it'll change the fuck out of everything.
I really want a major name to show up at some point besides Sam Jackson. Would be pretty cool

While there is a fairly recognizeable cameo at one point, it's not as big a name as Sam Jackson. I still don't think it'd be that hard to arrange a scene with someone. There's MCU films filming all the time, wouldn't be hard to get some Shield people at some point to the same filming location and organize something.

He was never really a big Villian though. Not enough for the marketing team to PR an entire buss over him. I don't see how he could become the super Villian of S4 after all the other inhumans we have seen with crazier powers
