How is it that movies made by American companies show in Europe earlier than the US?

However, one question notably inquired about the overseas-first release strategy for Marvel movies. The producer/executive revealed that the method came about as an experiment that stems back to the release of Iron Man 2 in 2010 and Thor in 2011 - each domestically released in early May of their respective years. Essentially, the approach was considered after realizing that several countries observed holidays in the end of April, making it advantageous for box-office numbers to get the films out early during those leisure-filled periods. The move didn’t seem to hurt the numbers, so the habit simply continued from that point forward.

Feige also hinted at other advantages to the overseas sneak-peeks, stating that a film’s impending release in the U.S. market can sometimes gain momentum it would not otherwise have enjoyed by touting prospectively impressive foreign numbers. Consequentially, The Avengers: Age of Ultron went into its May 1st domestic debut touting a $201 million foreign tally, already making back most of its $280 million budget and landing it at #10 overall in that category, just behind last year’s China-boosted Transformers: Age of Extinction. Thus, there is evidence that early releases serve as valuable buzz, despite the fact that it lifts the veil of mystery behind the film’s various plot secrets, due to international internet chatter.

Seen it yesterday and it was pretty damn good, i would personally place it with Ant-Man and GoTG 2, was a few nitpicky things i felt a bit eh about/jokes fell abit flat and i did have a massive headache while watching so that kinda hampered enjoyment but it was definitely steps beyond Thor 1&2.

Just got out of the film. There are 2 after-credits scenes, so be sure to stay.

As for the film itself...I truly enjoyed it. Definitely the best in the Thor franchise, and at all times well paced, but I didn't have any major "holy shiiiiiit" moments as with the other Marvel films. The humor worked well for me, and the banter was great too...there were some things that I wanna mention but I'll spoiler them, so don't click unless you've seen it.

I like how they trolled people with the trailers, by not showing the lightning in the coliseum punch scene and by not showing his missing eye in the lightning scene

I liked it a lot, so many laugh out loud moments.
    Spoiler: show
I agree about the trailers, how they only told half the story by not showing some of the visual effects. Trailers these days show you everything so seeing something new in a scene you've seen so many times was pretty cool.

I do wonder who that ship belongs to - the Kree, Thanos?

By far the best plot of any of the main MCU films I've seen. Leaned a touch too heavily into the comedy side, and some of the jokes were a little too predictable. Had a very good score. Overall 8/10.

Movie was great and the villain was amazing. There was way too much bad comedy for me though, which took some away from it.
