Is it a bad look to have our daughter's first birthday at the local brewery?

On the one hand, it's a brewery and she's 1. On the other she won't remember a damn thing anyway, the adults can have a good time, there's plenty of space, they have good food, and there's no prep/cooking/clean up for us.

    Thoughts?

Do what you want? It can be a fun story in the future to look back on. You're going to be running into plenty of situations where you will think people will judge your decisions. Just do you're best.

Sounds like a good time to me.

I think first birthday parties are dumb. They aren't for the kid for the most part, they are typically for other people's kids. People go crazy, my neighbors had pony rides a petting zoo area a bunch of yard games... None of which the birthday girl could do. It was for the other 20+ kids that were all older, their friends kids.

We did ours at a restaurant. Invited those close to us, fed them, and 1% of the party was getting to sing Happy birthday which is really what they are all there for. But our friends/family only had 1-2 other kids there. My neighbor had at least 20.

I would have loved to do it at a brewery if there was food. There is only 1 small part of it that's for the kid, the rest is for either the other kids or the adults.

It's as appropriate as the guests you're inviting. If you plan to just have a bunch of adult friends and family coming, have it at a brewery. If there's a bunch of adults with a bunch of younger kids that plan on tagging along, probably not a good choice.

My little guy is 3 now, and has started breaking into spontaneous singing from time to time. He's also playing with his PJ Mask figures with more imagination which is interesting to witness.

    Not a bad look.

People do that shit all the time here, so I may be especially unmoved by the idea.

Breweries even often have ample outdoor space for a few kids and/or doggos to pass well a couple hours. Obviously this is not a bounce-house-and-20-kids kinda thing. I think it's a decent party for a 1yr old.

We'll have to decide something for our goblin's first birthday, and it may be something similar. Beaucoup family will visit; it'll be mostly adults, maybe 3 or 4 kids total, and moving all that action outside the house sounds fantastic.

When we lived in Reno we had our son's bday at the local brewery several times. They had really good food and a big party room so it was easy to fit everyone. Not only that but the kids could run around in circles and be super loud because that is how it was. I think we had his 2nd and third bdays at the brewery.

Our oldest just turned 8 had a great bday for him. Hamburgers then walk to the aquarium. It was busy but fun.

No plan for other kids which is why we were thinking brewery. At most, there would be like 3 other kids around 10 which are my cousin's kids. We're of the opinion that a 1st birthday is mostly for the adults.

It's basically 25 adults and maybe a few kids.

So based on that, thanks for the input. Wife is on board too, and the brewery said they'll reserve some tables for us.

Here's a picture of my daughter cheesing as payment.

We didn't want to either but every now and then some waiter would be like what's her name and I would be ready to flip the fucking table. Lots of friends pressured us into cutting it too cause it gets in his face or whatever but we really liked it and worst case scenario we just grow it back lol. It just sucked in the mornings, frizzy as fuck and having to wet it and brush it then rush out the door go outside in the freezing cold made me feel bad.

    She rips them off.

Headbands, bows, etc. She pulls them off immediately. Doesn't help that she doesn't have much hair.
