How do you like your rocker? We have one similar or the same and it's been pretty good to us. Though we did place a knitted quilt down for extra padding on those long nights.

How long do you let a baby “cry it out?” Been trying to make my son sleep in his nursery the past week. Some nights are better than others but tonight he’s screaming bloody murder. Been checking on him to comfort him in 15-20 minute intervals.

Before he was sleeping in his bassinet next to us the whole night with zero issues.

What we did was pretty much just live in the hallway right outside his door. Everytime he started screaming, one of us would go in, lay him back down, say good night, and walk out. It was about 2 and a half weeks of hell and pretty much no sleep all night for at least one of us. But after that he slept in his room happy and without a peep.

Each kid is different. I recommend checking in at 10, then 12, then 14 minutes etc til they pass out. Use your phone timer and stick with it.

We’re getting to that point with my daughter. Her startle reflex has finally subsided so she no longer needs the swaddle but she still can’t go down without being rocked to sleep first

If rocking her to sleep only takes a few minutes, I'd say just keep doing it for a while. But if it's a huge hassle and she needs it every time she wakes up too, might be time to try gradual cry-it-out with checkins.

I don't usually post pictures of my kid anywhere but man he is cute as fuck. BG, this is Theo.

Our son is 2 years old and we're still having interesting happenings at bed time.
At the moment, we've reduce rocking a chair to 10 minutes max. After that he's in his crib until we start laying him down regularly once it's time to go to sleep.

My wife was dead set against the cry it out method so she refused to do anything with that what so ever. We all got sick at the 10 month mark and we had him sleep with us. We were getting solid sleep, but he's still getting in our bed after he wakes up in his crib. He's been way more active than he had been in the past lately so it's starting to affect our sleep.

My end goal is to get him transferred into a double/single bed as soon as we can, then at least we can be comfortable while he's falling asleep. I'd also like to let him have a little more freedom in his room, I know he'll go to sleep eventually when he's tired. His off switch just seems to get flicked around 8pm which is good. I know others have it worse. By 8pm one of us has been in his room for an hour, and usually it goes into the 815-830 range.

Wife and I's first kid was born this past Friday. Named her Eiley (Eye-lee). 7 lbs 5 oz, 20 in.
