Essentially, the games are actually classless even though they have starting classes. (Because you can do everything no matter what class you start as as long as you allocate the stats for it)
All the classes do is choose your starting stats and equipment.

That's really all this is.


Sometimes you even want to start as the lower level classes so that not as many stat points go to waste for the build you want since multiplayer in Demon's Souls and Dark Souls 1 is based on what level you are in relation to other players.

Also, as a matter of fact... in DeS and DkS1, the easiest starting classes to play as are also the ones that start at Lv1 because they start with good stuff.

So how much is different between this and Dks2? If i enjoyed dsk2 but never finished it, i should enjoy this? (was too lazy to go back!)

Well it's hard to say without actually playing it. Dunno if it's more like Dark Souls 2, 1 or Demons. Overall it probably isn't much different so if you have problems completing any Souls game (due to how the game is, not difficulty) I wouldn't recommend this.

From the looks of it, it's going to be a moderate departure from the Souls games, if you were playing anything other than a high-mobility/damage, low-defense build.

Yeah, I liked the look of the snake blade until I noticed it looked like it was doing awful damage. We shall see what it's like soon enough though.
