Maybe its just me, but that map on the gamepad looked a lot like South/East Hyrule from Zelda 1/2.

Yeah, big map sounds great and all, but if it is mostly just empty space + weak enemies, not going to be interesting spending 10+ minutes to get where I want to go. Still looking forward to this a lot though. =x
the 5-10 minute horse rides will get extremely annoying really fast. "Scenic route" novelty will wear off, so I hoping they add a "quick run" setting, atleast after you've been there before.
Zelda 2 was sorta open world
open world with no fast travel, bringing back the ffxi feels. lol
I'm sure there's a magical item that teleports you, but they don't want to reveal it yet.
Please be intentional. Please oh please be intentional.
Doubt it the sword is not positioned the same way in the 2 screens
Was going more for the scenery, colors and cliff placement over just the sword.
I've wanted a game to take place farther along in the failure timeline instead of continuous prequels for a while.
What is that drawn picture from? That looks soooo familiar...
"Normal horses don't run into trees" lol
Original Zelda manual.
So it is basically Wind Waker riding the boat through a lot of empty area until you reach destination? Eh, we'll see. I liked the way Wind Waker had it since when you saw land it was like "aw yeah" but here you are looking more for a landmark so far which may not stand out as greatly in comparison. Course making land prettier is better than making a sea prettier I suppose XD
The Legend of Zelda For Wii U Is Picking Ideas Up From Hyrule Warriors

Hyrule Warriors was a blast to play, and I'd love to see its combat elements moved into the main Zelda franchise.

Delayed until 2016. No mention of when.
Reason given is the open world aspect has given them a lot of ideas to explore since their announcement of 2015, and they want to add all of them.
Kind of a big blow to the Wii U in terms of momentum. 4 years into its life now and no new mainline Zelda title to speak of. Xenoblade Chronicles might be their big title for the holidays, unless they have something big under wraps for E3 or expect Star Fox to be that large of a title.
Edit: If it hits late Feb. 2016, that would be right at TLoZ's 30th anniversary. I would also expect with a delay like this the delay between NA and JP release would be minimized.
Edit2: Damn the internet cracks me up. Suddenly this is now a NX launch title. People just don't think anymore.
Thanks Obama. Now Christmas is cancelled
